I really doubt we'll ever see everything about his past, as he's lived for just too long to go through it all π€£ but I'm so grateful we get episodes like this!

Ooh I know why! I've scheduled this particular episode to go public on the YouTube channel at the regular time, so it takes them from unlisted to private. It should only be the case with this episode as I only schedule them the day before. After World War ii several high profile espionage cases caused a bit of panic (i.e. paranoia) about communists in the US and British governments. In the US, the Rosenbergs and Alger Hiss cases and in the UK, Kim Philby. Senator Joe McCarthy demagogued the issue and during his investigations would ask persons suspected of communist sympathies 'Are you now or have you ever been a communist.' During the 1920's and 30's a lot of intellectuals joined the communist party but were disillusioned after the war because of the Soviet Union's treatment of eastern Europe. McCarthy used these associations to smear these people and get them blacklisted from working in various industries including the Hollywood 10 (movie writers and producers).
