Doctor Who 2x09 The Satan Pit | Full Reaction

Well, here is the conclusion to the previous episode and it's a GOOD one! I loved seeing the Doctor in his little orange outfit. I was shocked by his bravery (foolish bravery?) but that is definitely our Doctor... he's not one to shy away from danger.

I've been having some troubles with the BBC and copyright claims. I expect it when I upload, so then I re-edit and re-upload until it's okay. I uploaded an Angel episode on Monday and it took 3 tries for it to stick. That's fine, I'm used to that! What I've only found with Doctor Who, is that the BBC will watch my videos on Youtube and make a manual copyright claim and block it. So a video that was previously okay, will suddenly get noticed and someone out there is actually making a claim themselves. BAH! I'm really wanting to get ahead with my Who recording/editing but I haven't been able to. I've only watched one episode ahead of this, but I need to really try to do more so I can have the video sitting there for a bit in case of any claims. I just don't have the time to do that right now and I might not until after Christmas holidays at the end of January.... BUT! We will persist! I will be like the Doctor and show bravery and resilience 😸

Late comment! lol but I love this two parter! So far with what you have watched it might be my favorite 2 parter so far. The Doctor and Rose’s bond really shows its development here. To think back to them bickering back in season 1 and then now, fighting devils to ensure the other’s safety is really beautiful. The scene were Rose didn’t want to leave even if the doctor might be dead because she just didn’t want to leave him always makes me tear up.

I always assumed a headshot would be too much for a family show lol. Plus Rose was sure they were gonna die anyway, I think she wanted to just be sure he wasn’t like protected by the spaceship or something.

Thank you, Neil 🥰🥰 As long as they don't complain TOO much, I can handle having to re-edit and re-upload a few times. I never knew the BBC were so painful 🤣 I never have ANY issues with Buffy, Angel or X Files! Never again to the BBC haha 😅💜

Juliette Gaming

I think you could be right!! Ooh... good thinking. Fingers crossed they give up on spying on me soon 🤣 At least I'm not alone with the pain... Honestly, I'll keep going until they make it too difficult for me to persist. I can always just keep them here if it gets too difficult 💜

Juliette Gaming

That is SO interesting! I do wonder why the Doctor didn't confirm or deny who the beast was... I wonder if it's something to do with the BBC?

Juliette Gaming

The Doctor is SO brave! It's one of the things I love most about him. In this one, he was ready to sit things out... Not this time. Then that sense of adventure kicked in, ready to save the world 💜

Juliette Gaming

I loved the Ood! I feel bad for them as I really do feel they are a peaceful race, but just susceptible to infiltration 😢

I've found that there are a few companies that do this, usually in waves, I suspect as part of some kind of backroom deal we aren't privy to yet. Maybe perhaps the upcoming S14 and the Specials in the next year.

One of the best moments in this episode was at the end, when the captain was giving his final report. He counted the Ood. In another show, they would have been forgotten, just some pesky disposable aliens. But he counted them among the dead. The Doctor lamented their death. They were people. Noodly people, to be sure. But people all the same.

I personally believe that the containment system in the Satan Pit is powered by computer malfunctions. I feel your pain, Juliette. :-)

Great Reaction! Once again I'll say one of my favourite 2 parters, I absolutely adore the relationship between Rose and The Doctor and the belief he has in Rose, so sad about The Ood. The bravery of The Doctor too to face on with The Devil always gives me chills and it's always a happy sight to see The TARDIS. ❤️

Hi Juliette This story is one of my personal favorites and it is great to see you becoming so invested in the show. This story is the 2nd time that The Doctor has encountered a creature that could have been the Devil. The 2 stories are NOT connected so there is no need to worry about spoilers. Anyway this earlier story is a classic Who story that was broadcast in 5 parts. from 22nd May 1971 to 19th June 1971 so it is before your time. It is called The Deamons and the Doctor is the 3rd Doctor. Jon Pertwee. and he was my first Doctor

What's that?

No, they're protecting the streaming services.

This really is a strong two-parter, and one that I enjoy watching again and again. I always took Rose's decision to shoot him out the window rather than shoot him directly is that she doesn't know if shooting him would kill him, but assumes that throwing him into the black hole would. Or it could just be they had some extra SFX budget left over and wanted a cool shot of him flying out the spaceship LOL. Sorry you are experiencing issues with copyright claims. Unfortunately the BBC are notoriously harsh with their claims. I watched another reaction on YouTube today and the entire video came in just under 8 minutes because it had been chopped so much. Another reaction channel I watch, he got so fed up with cutting it down he ended up blurring out all the video, and distorting the sound then uploaded his original YouTube edit to a 3rd party site and posted the link to it in a pinned comment. Of course that meant he wouldn't get credit for the views on YouTube so it's definitely stuck between a rock and hard place. I think with the 60th anniversary fast approaching (3 weeks time) they are much more active looking for copyrighted content just now. Hopefully it will die down within a couple of months.

I'm afraid the Beeb will be continually relentless on this. Publicly funded television with zero ad revenues and shrinking coffers, means they will protect the public investment like The Doctor protecting the planet Earth. Every television show is directly funded by the public who have purchased a licence to watch on television or online.

Sorry to hear about the troubles you're having Juliette, I'm sure it's very annoying having to constantly re-edit & re-upload. I know how hard you work and how busy you must be so try not to stress about it. You're doing all you can and we very much appreciate it. As for this concluding episode, you're right, it is a good one indeed! I think your cat enjoyed it as well, it seemed he(?) wanted to take over the mic and give us his thoughts on it! (Quick question, have you ever thought about exchanging the cat for a dog? Just something to think about maybe 😛) Thanks for all the great videos and all the work you do Juliette 💜

Neil Hanson

Well, I've noticed they say Torchwood a lot! So I thought that was the new catch phrase for season 2😅

Juliette Gaming

One of nifty aspects of the Nu Who stories: not only is there continuity between episodes, Ala two-part episodes, but generally each season has an overarching theme. For example, the arch for Season 1 was BAD WOLF. The fun part is to try to deduce the arch for each season.
