Buffy - Amends S3 E10 - Full Reaction

So, Buffy looks kinda different in this episode! It's gotta be the short fringe (or bangs I think they call it in some countries).

Another Buffy/Angel-centric episode (I'm  not complaining haha but it's beginning to hurt more and more) with some VERY interesting moments from Angelus' past coming into play. I liked this one. A little heavy, but there was such a beautiful scene at the end that kinda made up for it. I'd really like to know what you guys think about this episode!!

Buffy - Amends S3 E10 - Full Reaction

In old movies like 'Holiday Inn" made in the 1930's, they used asbestos insulation to fake the snow scenes. It did look better than this, but......

The snow DID look a bit dodgy, like foam or something 🀣

This is a well-liked episode among many fans, but as someone who's not into the Buffy/Angel relationship, I don't care for it much. And that snow at the end always bothers me. First of all, it feels too much like a cop out, like a deus ex machina. And more importantly, that's not what fresh snow looks like! The bad guy also seems somewhat underwhelming - all that effort just to get Angel to become evil or kill himself? He was both evil and dead already once! It appearing as Jenny was a nice touch though. There are some great moments of course, as there are in even the worst episode. Oz and Willow getting back together, Giles' reaction to Angel showing up at his door, and Faith and Buffy cautiously bonding is wonderful.

Yes, we are very similar here to LA, I'm guessing! It has NEVER snowed where I am and I don't think it ever will so to see it snow there right when it was needed was surely a miracle πŸ₯°

I thought it was so sweet, too! Maybe a little cheesy, but I'm a sucker for romance and Buffy and Angel have filled my romance bucket many times over πŸ₯°πŸ₯°

I love Buffy and Angel, but even I'm finding their relationship draining to be honest. It's getting a bit messy for me now, and makes me feel kinda awkward. They are wonderful together, but it's just not ever going to work. It's a bit too much now πŸ˜₯

Juliette Gaming

πŸ˜†πŸ˜† I have to agree with everything hahaha

There are things I love about this episode--including the Willow/Oz bits, and Faith showing up for Christmas after her "big party" just happened to fall through. But by this point in the season I'm kind of bored with the Buffy/Angel seesaw romance, and since I don't ship them the magic snow lands with me as more cheesy than romantic or sweet or uplifting. But I understand why people who ship Bangel find this episode moving.

Superplin

After living in LA for 10 years and never seeing a drop of the snow, this definitely falls in the miracle category!

I think Buffy fans are at least a little bit masochist. And reaction viewers a bit sadistic. Whoever gave Sarah those bangs was definitely a sadist. πŸ˜‚

I don’t think the fact it had been warm in Sunnydale had anything to do with the evil forces - it’s Southern California after all. Think of it as the equivalent of Brisbane or the Sunshine Coast, where it’s currently mid 20s (Celsius) in the middle of winter. The strange weather in this episode is the snow - which can be put down to the regular β€œChristmas Miracle” for a seasonal special episode.

I won't go into details, because I don't want to spoil anything, but having seen the entire series, this episode hits differently than it did before. :)

Just some random trivia on this episode,,,the actor playing the weather forecaster is an actual weather forecaster. His name is Mark Kriski and does the weather on the morning news prgoamming for KTLA is Los Angeles. I've watched Buffy here in England when it was first aired but moved to LA in around 2007 and only then put two and two together.

Dyrla

I like this episode, but then I'm a sucker for deep, emotional drama and emotive language. Also I liked the villain in this one; taking on the form of angels victims to haunt him. The crazy weather might very been a sign from above that angel is meant to be there. No sun, so he couldn't burn up. A bit cheesy but sweet β™‘

And also an entire genre of music that causes pain called country. The third party experience is a way of not feeling alone and grounding the emotions that overwhelm a person at times, in my opinion.

I think experiencing third party pain through different forms of art must be therapeutic to the human condition in some way. I mean we created an entire genre of music called the blues.

That definitely makes sense! I ship Buffy and Angel, though to be honest, I just want Buffy to be happy. If she finds happiness with someone else, then I'll be shipping her new love! The back and forth/on and off between Buffy and Angel DOES get a bit emotionally exhausting, so even though I love them together, I really do think that they just can't be together so should probably end it for good... πŸ˜₯

Juliette Gaming

to be fair, her new style was pretty noticeable 😸 I am surprised that the next episode her fringe is a bit longer, but maybe they had time between filming or used a wig?

Juliette Gaming

Buffy's hair is rather infamous in this episode for the fringe/bangs. It's one of the things people remember most from it. But it's a good episode IMO. More about Angel, an interesting scene between him and Buffy at the end that ultimately leads to snow in Los Angeles, which is not a normal occurrence. Really I suppose the mileage you get out of this one depends on if you ship Buffy and Angel or not. I like them together but I don't ship them, so I don't hate it but I don't love it, if that makes sense. Ok off to watch it now.

Oh here come the comments about the bangs ...
