We get introduced to a new character today and it's one that I didn't really EVER contemplate seeing. How very curious! I've seen the second part to this one so I'm leaning towards "like" at the moment. Let's hope I'm not disappointed at some point in the future 🤣

And the fact that something happened in Prague gets a couple of tossed of lines at best all adds up to it being an easy one to miss on your first viewing. I think on my first watch I think I picked up on the Prague thing but missed the bruises entirely until several times through. So, like, props to you for catching it.

2023-05-16 21:12:58 +0000 UTCWillow and Oz finally meet! I love this slow buildup. In fact I feel it makes the reveal of Giles' past look phoned in. Only the second episode after the first hint that we don't some things about him, everything is revealed. I feel it's too soon, and too little. The Oz thing is more spread out and generally much better written IMO. What a cliffhanger!

Sarah Michelle Gellar was a competitive ice skater as a teenager and was ranked 7th in the State of New York before she quit to focus on acting. She also earned a black belt in Taekowndo and learned kickboxing and streetfighting so she could do some of her own stunt work. It's crazy how talented and driven she was at such a young age. Anyway wonderful episode and things just keep getting better.

2023-05-15 23:49:32 +0000 UTCWhen we first met Spike and Dru back in "School Hard" Spike made brief mention of an angry mob that attacked Drusilla while they were in Prague, I'm guessing in what was kind of an "angry villagers with pitchforks and torches" type situation. That's the reason why Dru is so weak and that's where we get the bruises on her arms from. I often think that it's a plot point that could have been explained a little better, but I do appreciate the detail of putting the bruises there. And as long as we understand that Dru is weak and Spike is trying to heal her that's really all that matters. Can't wait for part 2 to drop, these are really two of my favourite episodes but like most two-parters the payoff really is in the second half after we get everything set up in the first one. Very excited, can't wait to see your reaction!
