Full Length Reactions
Added 2023-02-07 20:51:51 +0000 UTCHello!! I hope you all are doing well and I just want to say thank you for being here and having patience with me 💜 I know a few of you are here for the full length reactions, so I promise to keep up with them and get them out to you ASAP! Thankfully, editing those ones are a breeze compared to the ones for YouTube!
Some of you that have been here for a while will know I'm only new to offering full length reactions. My Firefly videos were not recorded with that intention in mind (and to be honest, I'm trying to get in that mindset with Buffy but I just get lost in the show and forget haha) so I'm still learning as I go.
One thing I'm struggling with is what format to offer the reactions. Now, I prefer the format I've been doing so far here on Patreon, which is to lower the opacity, thus changing the original footage. I cannot and will not ever be okay with uploading the original footage without anything changed on it, so that was something I was experimenting with.
After doing some research and talking to a few people, doing it that way still impedes on Copyright as the original works are still visible. I have made the decision to go back to a watch-along style, which is what I first had here when experimenting with full length reactions. This decision is made to protect myself and this style is one that pretty much all of the reactors I follow and admire use (the big guys!). If it's good enough for them as massive creators, then there must be a reason they are doing it that way and not turning to Google Drive/Vimeo with unblurred and raw reactions.
I know some of you might be upset or disappointed with this, but I really feel it is the best thing for me to do for peace of mind, security, and legal issues. I hope you can understand. I think I do a good job of editing down the YouTube videos to leave the best moments in so if you'd rather just watch on there, then that is perfectly fine 🤗 You do not have to stay a member if you don't like this decision and I will 100% understand and hold no hard feelings!
I have held off advertising the Patreon page on the YouTube channel as I just wasn't sure what I wanted to do. I feel a lot more comfortable with this decision going forward.
I am intending to hopefully watch 2 Buffy videos per week, and Patreon will eventually be ahead of YouTube by a fair bit 🤭 I will have the first Buffy episode out here today but still more experiments. I will offer a blurred video with audio left in, and a blurred video with audio removed and see which ones you guys like best. Thank you for your patience as I continue to navigate this. It's still new to me and I am still learning 💜

Thank you, Patrick! I'd be happy to provide both if it were split evenly, it's not that much extra work for me at all. I'll see how the reception is for both and then go from there 💜🤗

2023-02-08 04:22:53 +0000 UTCFor watchalong, I prefer to have the audio along in _one_ video (i.e. yours), makes it easier for me to sync it up manually. But I'm sure I'll adapt to whichever way you prefer. (And quite probably, either way will fit about half of the patrons, so as a glass half full kinda person, I'd say either way is positive, just for different people. :)

2023-02-07 22:08:08 +0000 UTCTBH if you’re enough of a Buffy fan to Patreon a reactor you don’t need video to know exactly what’s going on anyway

2023-02-07 21:40:08 +0000 UTCWhichever way you prefer to present the full-length reactions is fine by me Juliette. You're still relatively new to this, especially the full-length reactions, so it's completely understandable that you are refining the way you present your content and finding what works and what you are comfortable with. With regards to audio vs no audio for the full-length reactions, I lean towards being able to control the show audio from my end. But again, whatever you settle on is fine by me. I'm sure your Buffy reactions will bring a load of new subs to your channel, and hopefully new patreon members as well. Thanks for the update Juliette.

2023-02-07 21:10:18 +0000 UTCAh, thank you, Michael 💜 I'm so relieved to hear that. Honestly, I was awake for a while in the night tossing and turning and thinking about it. I really want to forge ahead with the full length reactions, but I needed a solid plan and one that was a safe road for me to go down. I think most people here have seen Buffy and Firefly many times and can probably see the episode in their own head haha 🤭

2023-02-07 21:01:50 +0000 UTCHi Juliette. Personally I think the best way of doing full reactions is to just have viewers get their own copy of the show or movie and you just show a blurred version of the footage so that people can sync their copy with yours. Some people won't be ok with this, because it means they have to get their own copy, but I think it's the safest way to avoid copyright.

2023-02-07 21:00:11 +0000 UTCHello, I'm new in your channel but I'm glad to be here and I support 100% what you're doing. I apologize if my English is not that good it's not my first language. It's gonna be really great to see you react to Buffy. Happy to be part of this community.
