Firefly - The Train Job FULL REACTION

This is my very first time editing a full reaction video and I need your help! This is with a blurred out background, but audio left in. I would LOVE your opinions on what you'd prefer!

* Do you want audio ON or OFF?

* Is the countdown timer okay? If not, how do I improve this for you?

* The part left intact for you to sync up your own copy, is this okay? If not, how do I improve this for you!

I can now upload videos directly to Patreon which is AWESOME. This makes the videos more secure (hopefully!) and I think will stop search engines being able to find videos via deep-diving the Patreon website. Patreon video hosting is a few feature introduced this year as a trial and I think it's going to be a great feature!

As this is uploaded directly to Patreon, I would LOVE to experiment further with the blurred image and perhaps have it less blurry or even not at all. I just need to find out what is allowed!

With your suggestions, I will re-edit this video if I can and then get started working on the rest of the Firefly episodes. This will be a GREAT way to also share full movie reactions, too! I'm really excited about adding full length reactions here ๐Ÿ’œ

I'm looking forward to hearing your feedback! Thank you for having patience with me as I learn what to do going forward ๐Ÿ˜„

Firefly - The Train Job FULL REACTION

Unrelated, but, do you ever do trailer reactions? Have you seen the M3gan trailer? If not to both, It is a fun trailer. I just saw the movie with my teen kids, and it was really fun and provoked lots of conversation.

It was a good video, and a GREAT first step! Still, I have a few thoughts minor thoughts for you to consider or ignore. Not that it matters, but here in the states we cannot get Firefly on Disney+., but we can get it on Hulu. Those of us who wear browncoats already have it on BluRay anyway! I don't like having the show audio along with you. I have a bit of a hearing problem, and sometimes I have trouble picking out voices over other noises. With the music and dialog, I lost your voice from time to time. I'd like to be able to adjust your volume louder and leave the show or movie's volume lower. Sometimes I'll even use the captions for the show so I can hear your lovely voice! I can't do that here. I already paid for the show with the sound, so I don't need to get that from you also. The blur was just about right. With most movies and TV shows, over the course of the video it may go out of sync. You left just enough of the video for me to get it back in sync without showing anything. It's a good idea at the beginning or in the written description to let the viewers know where you watched it, so we know where to find it to watch ourselves. Sometimes that won't work, because the distributers have different ageeements with the producers in different countries, but it's still helpful. Also, when you watch movies, be careful to avoid most special editions, director's cuts, etc. Sometimes they're great, but it can be very difficult to get ahold of them. For another reaction channel I would have had to buy a used DVD on eBay because they got ahold of a long out-of-printe version of a movie!

So that's another vote for audio off, I think! I did think if I could leave the audio on, but maybe louder and make it less blurry, it would save people having to watch with their copy. Honestly if it were me, I'd be WAY too lazy to set up my own copy and I'd just watch the blurred video because of said laziness haha I will do some more experimenting this week but thank you so, so much for your feedback and letting me know your thoughts!! It helps enormously as I have no clue what I'm doing ๐Ÿ˜‚

So, I've just finished watching your full reaction with my own copy synced up, and I thought it was great. You've got just the right amount of blur that it made syncing up my copy very easy. If there's one thing I would change, its the audio. I found myself wishing that I could raise the episode volume ever so slightly in relation to your voice, but its obviously not possible when both audio sources are coming from your video. Other than that though, it was prefect.

Neil, thank you so much for your feedback!! I can certainly pop in a little audio clip of me counting down like you mentioned. That won't be a problem and would actually be a great idea!! I'm really excited to try out this next step and it's not a difficult task compared to the cut down and edited reactions. I'd say in total it would take me about an hour or so to do an episode for Patreon which is very good! Thank you for your suggestions ๐Ÿ’œ

Thank you so much!! Most creators I think have no audio but I was thinking if I could have it LESS blurry, we could still leave the audio on. I'll wait and see what the majority say. I'm happy either way! Thank you SO much for your help ๐Ÿ’œ

This is a nice surprise Juliette! Regarding the timer, I'm used to the reactor saying "3.....2.....1.....play" to help with syncing. Most people also have a timer running throughout the video, but I'm not sure if that's actually necessary. Regarding the audio, the way you've done it is fine for me, but some people may prefer to be able to control the movie/show audio from their end so they can get the levels set up how they prefer. I guess it's unknown at this point how blurred, or if at all, the content needs to be. It looks like you've got some experimenting to do! It's good that you're able to have the videos actually hosted on Patreon now because as you said, it should stop websites, such as the one I've mentioned to you previously, from sharing your content for free.

Here is my two cents. If the audio is on, I don't have to watch along. I have seen it enough, I know what is happening and I can focus on your reaction. My preference tho is audio off. With audio off and a timer, even if the timer is only at the beginning, I can adjust the volume of the show to whatever level I want without interfering with you. This works for me because I have two monitors stacked vertically. I put the show on top and your reaction on bottom. That is my selfish reasoning. If the vast majority of clients only have 1 monitor, their needs might differ, and I am ok either way.
