From the fathomless vaults beneath the Black Forge Monastery crawl the Shrimp Automatas, grotesquely elegant constructs birthed in the twilight between decay and precision. These ancient machines serve the High Mechanics with a loyalty encoded deeper than thought. Their spindly, arched limbs - jointed like those of forgotten deep-sea fauna - click and hiss with sacred pneumatics, their every movement accompanied by the soft whisper of ancient hydraulics and the occasional rasp of organic matter.

Originally conceived as repair-drones for maintaining the hallowed engines of the Primordial Forges, many have since been refitted for combat and field service. Their exoskeletal plating gleams with patina'd alloy, pocked with sigil-burns and etched prayers in electro-script. Beneath this armored shell, remnants of servitor flesh twitch in symbiotic servitude - nervous bundles, salvaged from condemned minds, provide reflex and memory to these semi-sentient automata. A form of proto-cognition pulses through them: not quite Artificial Intelligence, but something far older and less free. They remember how to obey.

Each Shrimp Automata is an icon of lost knowledge - a synthesis of necrotechnology and near-intelligence, crawling across battlefield and machine-temple alike. In times of peace, they delicately recalibrate the internals of massive logic-caskets, re-aligning bio-conduits with surgical precision. In war, their claws split flesh and conduit with equal dispassion, guided by a will not their own, but holy nonetheless.
