As always, it's a busy month for our studio! We hope it's obvious from our progress update that we have been working hard on Prince of Suburbia and V0.8 is almost complete!
This update of Prince of Suburbia involved remastering a few earlier scenes and replacing all of the sprites. The new sprites are not a one-to-one equivalent of the old sprites (the new sprites have far more variations). So, the coding and testing was more intensive than a normal update where we are only adding new content.
Still, barring any major unforeseen problems, we should be able to start Early Release of V0.8 of Prince of Suburbia within the next few days. As soon as we have an official timeline (hopefully later today) we will make an announcement!
Besides powering through the remainder of the V0.8 release, we have also spent more time than we'd like catching up on administrative tasks such as taxes and other super fun stuff like that. ;)
This week we also got the page set up for Prince of Suburbia - Part 2 on Steam, a paid DLC that will give our Steam players access to the most recent updates of Prince of Suburbia! We have also been gradually redoing all the branding for Prince of Suburbia to reflect the new sprites and remastered art.
There will be even more work along these lines in the near future as we update the FREE DEMO (Part 1 - V0.55) of Prince of Suburbia on all platforms and actually launch the paid DLC on Steam.
We are also hoping to release A Shot in the Dark in some form on Steam before the end of the year, which means doing a lot of these tasks yet another time!
All that to say, as our studio grows, the more business-oriented and administrative aspects of our studio (especially marketing and community building) have been taking more and more time away from actual game development.
So, we will be looking into hiring out some of that work, but haven't figured out exactly what that will look like yet. Stay tuned! We're open to ideas and suggestions, if you have wisdom to offer in this area!
Despite the focus of the past two weeks being mostly on Prince of Suburbia and the business overall, we did manage to make a little progress on renders and preparing animations for Chapter 2 (2nd half - V0.2) of A Shot in the Dark.
It bears repeating that V0.2 has significantly more lewd scenes than V0.15 and we are so happy with how they are looking so far! We started working on the animations for V0.2 right after the release of V0.15, and we will probably be working on them all the way up to the release of V0.2. There are just so many of them and we can't wait to share them with you! :D
Thank you as always for your support! We couldn't do this without you.
