That Ratboy trailer....

Degrassi Knoll

Hey boyz. Impact (a dateline spin off I guess?) did a special on Liver King. The host is kind of goofy but overall a pretty good dive in to steroids and body dysmorphia.

I would 100% support keeping the Shadow Wolves tier as-is, but alternating the regular format with movie commentaries Blank Check Special Features style.

Cale Woods

I started watching Hot Shots part 1 again and its actually already Top Gun: Maverick. The story is basically the same. I mean with a few differences 😆

Steve S.

This is why I sign up for abz. The passion that shines through when discussing why sheen works is incredible. “Rambo 2 slash 3!” 😂

CTSteeze

Just bought an old used copy. Seems the right way to read it. Really looking forward to it.

This was such a formative movie for me. I remember watching it probably 100 times because we had an illegal PPV box. So much of it went over my head, but I still laughed my ass off.

Immediately snagged a copy of Shark Infested Custard, ABZ book club continues to keep me alive

Mike Durante

Thank god I wasn’t the only one who thought JW4 was bad… the no reload and sloppy and no into of new characters like Mr nobody

Thomas

Can ABZ please release a Bronson movie on the free feed?

The Hunger.

I did too for a sec.

John Blood

Don’t sleep on Don’t Be a Menace… for spoof pics. I watch it and Hot Shots Part Deux annually.

Slam Janders

hell yeah

Will See

love the monkey business in directors cut

Will See

Portis just got Library of America editions this year, which is cool.

I happened to have watched The Getaway 1972 right after watching Straight Time, and that has a good sequence of McQueen looking around and figuring out the new world he's in. Felt like Straight Time took a lot of inspiration from that movie as well. It is my favorite Peckinpah movie I think. Really good. Highly recommend.

Dustin

Is lawnmower man on the list this year?

bloodflart

Stanger calling Tarantino a gargoyle is so fuckin funny

bloodflart

It's so satisfying that theyre talking about Karina Longworth and her YMRT episode about Impulse bc i was doing the leo dicaprio (shout out) pointing at the screen.gif like 1000 times during that pod. And the film sounded truly wretched I'm glad Ben thinks so too.

Matt Brown

The Dog of the South is good. Everything Charles Portis wrote is good. The True Grit novel is so much more interesting, and funnier, than either of the film adaptations. Even Masters of Atlantis, my least favorite of his books, is worth reading. All of his stories have a vein of cynicism running through them, but they're never hopeless, and then they're just funny, too.

Michael Pemulis

Can’t believe I bought the last second fake news at the end.

Javier Gonzalez

Havent seen 4 yet. But Id say yeah 2>1>3 is about right. I love all of them so far.. Real love letter to stuntmen.

John Blood

I’ll say my ranking of the Wicks are 2>1>4>3

Nick Solomon

Lloyd Bridges as the President just reminds me of Biden now...it's hilarious how that worked out.

Willie Simpson

Grapefruiting is back!!! I knew this was gonna be a great Wednesday!

I saw some promo stills from Ghosted the other day and it occurred to me that if there was an AI app that could make feature films whole cloth that that’s exactly what it would make. Evans and Armas look so perfect and shiny yet they have zero character and look like such a amalgamation of what is supposed to be attractive that it just amounts to a bullseye of banality. Everything about them from their facial features to their hair and clothing…just felt like it was a screen grab from a video game cut scene. That and the fact that every movie seems to be an excuse for the director to show how THEY TOO can block and execute elaborate oners. Thinking of bullshit like Babylon and Knives Out…I get it…your 1st AD was really good at directing background and your steadicam operator is A List. Blech.

Pod Ween Satan

Truly shocked me too

Alex Elani

Stanger mentioning graham crackers as the first topping at cold stone just reinforcing that he hasn’t had junk food in years

Alex Elani

I can’t believe I made up in my head that they covered hot shots

Shadowwolves. It's fantastic!

The Hunger.

Here it is: https://youtu.be/67GQrmY59rg?t=3279

LA Takedown I think is the Michael Mann TV movie that got remade as Heat. Really fascinating watch because they do the famous Pacino/Deniro coffee shop scene in that one and it is nowhere near as good. Shows what great actors bring to it, and also how Mann had grown as a director.

I bet Rodgers first words were "Santa isn't real"...
