At last guys, time has finally come for me to announce the 1.16.4 support update. And I can tell you, many exciting and revolutionary things are coming in 2021 for ray tracing shaders and hardware usage. I'm in contact with a new shader developers for who I'm making an opening video that will come out on my Youtube channel.
Expect much smarter way of hardware and software usage that will allow much greater detail with much smoother results and proper ray tracing of all lights, mod blocks and more... I won't say anything else until it's ready to launch at that stage but just to give you a quick heads up.
So I've successfully ported this version to 1.16.4 meaning I will stop supporting all versions below after v2.2 of my mod. However good news is you can easily port your 1.14.4 maps you built with my mod to 1.16.4 with Worldedit mod. Sadly this won't be possible for 1.12.2 users. I've been mainly using that one for testing purposes mostly because I had Minema and Bauercam set up there to render videos. 1.12.2 is too different compared to versions above and by talking to Worldedit devs directly they said it's not possible to port mod blocks to the upper versions. The only thing for you to do would be opening the 1.12.2 map in 1.16.4 Minecraft and place mod blocks back manually. We have to move on and step up with time and that's what I wanted to do for a long time so sadly we'll have to make few sacrifices.
Below you can see the first test I did in 1.16.4 Forge. Everything's working as intended.

Porting to Fabric will take me a bit longer but hopefully I can get it done for January release date. If not surely for February. I have to port over 500 assets to Fabric which will make it the biggest update to date by far.
As you may know with Fabric you can now use Replay Mod to render videos which is also a big reason why I postponed 1.16.4 Forge release as well since with Forge above 1.12.2 there's no rendering mod out to date.
Another thing I wanted to implement for a while is block functionality and to narrow down the number of blocks that are part of one furniture for example. Here's a cupboard that so far you needed to select 3 pieces to place it, but now it's possible to do so automatically with only one block and rotate after.
I think this approach will make it faster for you to build and more like this will be added in the future even for existing models. Hopefully even windows and thin walls but those are much more complicated.

I've also been working on some POM texture testing and this is a WIP crystal texture I've made to test. I will also add POM to the textures from now on if necessary. Not all textures need POM obviously. (This is screenshot taken straight from MC, no rendering here)

Enjoy the New Year celebration and hopefully we can have a much better 2021, it surely seems so from the Minecraft modding point of view.
I'd also like to sincerely thank you for your support throughout the year. I never thought this project would bring so much attention, but what I value the most is the opportunity you gave me to learn so much from it and at the same time I enjoy watching your creations and seeing how much fun you have in the process. Thank you and stay awesome guys!
