Branded To Fall Dev Update 21/12/25

Hey hey all!

Sorry for missing last weeks dev log, it's that fun busy time of year with lots on all the time so I missed both the Sunday and Monday so decided to just bundle the news from that week into this week as well. Speaking of which, I have some very fun things to talk about!

First off, the update on game content. I've been working a few routes that I want to include content for in the next update. Leandros has had some more progress, which for those who have given in to his wants so far will find quite an escalation coming as the heat is turned up a few notches in this next update. Hazel is seeing a rather decent chunk of content, which allow people to see more of her character and enjoy some meatier content with her, but also may give some interesting lore or story details for some. The Vanessa fans will also be very happy, as I've also started work on the next scene for her as well which I think many people will be looking forward to after how her latest event left things off. You can certainly expect a much different dynamic and expectation, but if Elora will fight this or embrace it, well, I suppose you'll see in the update, though I've added a nice teaser for this in this updates banner.

In the next update you can also expect to see more new maps, some of which I think will be quite the fun surprise for players. I've been able to branch out with some more tilesets from the same creator as the ones the game already uses. Some of these you won't get to see in the next update as they're a part of much larger scale areas that will take some time before being added, but others will be getting more immediate use which I'm very excited for, as it's always nice to get some more variety in what can be used for maps and environmental story telling. I've been thinking of also adding some of these new bits and bobs to some of the old maps that would suit them, but that's low down the priority list.

Finally, one of the things in the game that has been bugging me so far, the soundtrack. While some of the songs are very fitting for the areas, the rpgmaker tracks are incredibly limited in tone and scope, even with the pitch shifting they allow for. This leads to so many scenes just maintaining the ill fitting background music of the area over more intense or intimate scenes. Not to mention, hearing the same songs in other games makes them feel less like theme for the area or character and more like generic ost (which tbf, is what they are atm.). Well, I'm happy to announce that this will be changing! I have been working with an incredible composer to start creating a unique soundtrack for both Branded and Part Time Mafia, which I'll be adding into the game as tracks are completed to help make it feel more unique and complete. The tracks completed so far have been absolutely amazing, and I'm so excited to hear what people think of them in this next update!
