I want to know how many people are actually using the 256x version in comparison to the 128x version

Comments

i also only got like 30 fps with the 256x texturepack and seus ptgi hrr 3 on a 4080 super

Manuel1337

For some reason I’m only averaging 30FPS with 128X and have a 4080s and 9800X3D….. using these with the SEUS shader.

Derek Lutonsky

Minecraft in itself is not optimized so the bad performance is not related to the texture pack but to Minecraft's unoptimized rendering with Larger sized Texture packs. There are mods that can optimize Rendering e.g. Nvidium, Sodium and others.

Charles Kuperus

why do I get only 30% gpu usage when I apply the patrix_basic part of the pack. Meanwhile when I use just addon it utilizes 98-99% and with mobs it drops to 60%, got 3090 and 12900k so there should be no bottleneck

Martin Daňo

i use a mixture so i dont crash

Xii-Nyth

Hi! Do I simply add all the different zip files into my resource pack folder?

Nat Brazil

256x kills my pc

Rogyman

I can't figure out how to get the paid versions...

Allen

to be honest, I'd use the 256 version if my poor laptop could manage it. Even 128x is a struggle, and 64x feels just a bit crunchy. I'd love to see some sort of like 96x pack or something, but I have no earthly idea if that would cause graphical glitches or anything

Steve Desamos

256x doesn't load for me I'm not sure why, I did everything that was suggested it still doesn't work.

D3fine

Seus renewed 1.0.1 works well with the 256 packs, just have to turn off smooth lighting to avoid the black textures on the model pack. If I don't add the model pack, all is good as long as I follow the shader instructions posted with the release. Seus e12, is a hog, but looks great. I am good with 128 packs there and I'm guessing other shaders are the reason why 256 is hurting so bad. Currently running 3070ti stock at 5120x1440 and getting between 50-60fps 128 with e12. Getting 120fps locked with Seus renewed with 128. Not sure of any complaints on here, artwork is top notch and the models separate this from everyone else by leaps and bounds. Just wanted to say thanks for the hard work that went into completing this!!!

Spaid

i think its cause you have: or a bad cpu (which i doubt) or not enough RAM (you need >48GB of RAM+VRAM)

BertYT

I can use the 128x with ~35 fps average (without shaders)

Oliver Skull

I sink down to 1fps when using 256 and SEUS shader unfortunately and im on a 3090

Justin Kane

I'm using a 3070 in the 256 and I'm not having a problem

Gray The Fox

II use with Sodium 256x And Optifine the 64x Version. Looks Like Minecraft 2.0

DJ olivier

I have with RTX 3080 with 256x 4fps with 128x 50-70

DJ olivier

will use the 256x when CTM is updated for Sodium&Iris, plays at 100fps with 256 but repeat blocks

Scott Hunter

Does anyone have any tips or tweaks to improve performance with these packs? With 128x and HRR 2.1 extreme settings I run at around 40-60 frames with a 3070FE

Tootinsnootch

Not sure how to do that, is there a tutorial somewhere?

SloxNivi

they're literally just textures.. they work with all versions of minecraft, just change the texture name accordingly and if you're using an older version of optifine, you need to rearrange them into the right file/folder structure... simple enough to do and doesn't take that long.

Daemien Black

Hey, can we get a version that will work with 1.12.2? Best version of Minecraft for mods

Jeffrey Croft

Is there a version that will work with 1.12.2? :)

Roy tobiassen

ok my setup is 6700k@4.5GHz 32GB of RAM @ 3000MHz and MC installed on the M2 SSD system drive and a frickin RTX 3090 and i get 1 or 2 fps when using th 256x version with PTGI HRR 2.1. to the people using the 256x version, what hardware do you use?

Sandboxie

I didn't give recommended specs for the packs because they varied so much depending on your setup, the res, the optional packs, and the minecraft version.

patrix

I think there just needs to be clarification on what "plenty of RAM/VRAM" means I got buckets of RAMbut idk if 8gb of VRAM is enough.

Loopy Eyes

hey,can you share your options? I have the same setup and on 128x 1920x1080 I got 22-30fps only

Mainexas

Works on 256x without the connected textures which is too bad when you see the results with them

Seth's Games

Hello there, I have a I7 7700K (4.2G) + RTX 2070 and I can't start on 256x version The 128x turns correctly on 2560x1440 and perfectly on 1920x1080

Seth's Games

in latest post in description zou have link for download

sakemajkake

how do you download the pack

Elias pgh

128x works great, but without any mods and shaders, don have oney fore shader but 256x dont work, when i try to load it says resource reload failed, any clue why ?

sakemajkake

I made 32gigs available and it ran at around 21gigs on the 128x version.

Colin Poole

Im using a i7 7700k, a gtx 1080 and 32 gb of ram. It "can" handle the 256x version on 2 chunks with optifine and ray tracing on 20 fps. but the 128x version isnt a problem with ray traincg

Myzi.eu --MonoChirito

neither since they both crash the game with 8 gigs of ram dedicated.

MasuraGaming

I have a liquid-cooled i5-9600k, RTX 2070, and 16 GB of ram, I've noticed no matter what I set Minecraft ram usage to it doesn't go above about 3-4 GB usage in-game on either pack (through task manager says the entire amount I allocate is being used). All that said I can't get about 15 fps on the 256x version, and only about 25-30 on the 128x.

Nemo Lewis

I have a 3700x, 32 gb of 3200mhz ram and an rtx 2070. the 256x with shaders destroys my fps, like 10 fps. To get 40 fps i have to use the 128x.

Shawn

2080Ti in NVLink is gonna hurt performance since NVLink doesn't support games yet, if ever.

Brent Manke

Oh btw My set up is a 2080Ti, 32g of 3200ghz of ram and a i9900ks all liquid cooled even runs in the 40-50C on full load just do not know why the FPS drops so much.

Sora Son

3900x, 2x 2080ti nvlink, 128gb 3200, 3840x2160.....tv :/ i know. forge optifine 128x max fps: 28 only optifine 128x max fps: 28 FO 256x : crash, whole computer OO 256 : crash, whole computer

John Turner

I am using the 128 and get around on BSL shaders 50-65 FPS some times it dips to around 40 depending on the leafs of the trees. Its the same for Sonic's Shaders its just not updated to run 1.16 right just yet. Weird tho BSL gets 150 FPS on the nether but Soinics get 40-30 FPS it swaps. I am thinking on maybe the leafs need to be town down a bit or have a less detailed version of leafs for the pack?

Sora Son

OK, so... I'm now running Forge instead of Paper, with latest Optifine (1.16.2 HD U G3) and somehow managing 40 - 50 fps with 256x, There are some freezes now and again, probably due to my 32GB maxing out. I think with 64GB, this could be a smooth experience. I am running RTX 2080 Ti with i9-9900K.

Lucid Flight

I need more Vram to run 256x

Pro katten

How many fps?

Isaac Mejia

256x is gorgeous and I have used it while admiring some finished builds but FPS hovered around 10-15 FPS(i7-9700k, RTX 2080 trio, 64gb RAM). Your 128x textures have been my go to textures since I found them for everything including survival! Stunning!

Greg Kenney

My rig running 64gb Ram and Ryzen 7 2700x and 1070ti can run 256x but it takes 50gb or ram and i only get 5 to 7 FPS

Issac Ozzman

I'm too poor to afford a rig that can handle 256x with shaders.

GameNerdy

Ryzen 3400G, RX580 8G, 16G I can run 256 without shaders or optifine, but with PTGI I have to switch to 128. Looking forward to upgrading sometime this year to run 256 all the time!

Jason

ok I got it up to 20 fps

TheIrisSymphony

whenever I run the 256x version with shaders I get 1 fps and I have an i9 9900k, 32 GB RAMand an RTX 2080 Ti

TheIrisSymphony

Running 128x and shaders. i9 9900k, 32GB RAM (20GB allocated to Minecraft), RTX 2080 Super. If I run 256x it struggles to hit 60fps. More likely 40 and a bunch of framedrops. I prefer 144 FPS, so 128x it is.

Mr. Fahrenheit

I can load the 256 okay without optifine in fabric, but with optifine or optifabric, i experience issues. 128 seems more stable with i7 7700k, 1070ti, 32gb 2400 ram.

Dullahan Gaming

i9-9900K, RTX 2080 Ti, 32GB DDR4 3200. 128x runs smoothly with SEUS PTGI E12 at 1920x1080. I've loaded 256x a couple of times to take screenshots, but it's a bit jerky at 20/9 fps (according to Optifine). Normally, I run 128x.

Lucid Flight

Do you know your RAM usage? On 128 if I remove the JVM ram cap it's using upwards of 20 of my 32gb.

Colin Poole

Using 128x if I'm using shaders. 256x if I'm not using shaders.

DarkMoonHound

I7 10875h, rtx 2070 super, 16gb. Running 256x is ok, I can get stable 60 fps, but using shaders is a struggle but that is expected haha

Brandon Roberts

R7 2700x, rtx 2080 ti, 16gb 3200 / run @ 128x

Ouhs

I7 9700k rtx2080 and i can only use 128x when i use mods and ptgi

GulliUlli

Yeah I'm curious what y'alls specs are that can run 256 smoothly.

Wintervale

R9 3990, GTX 1080, 32gb DDR4 3200mhz.. The 256x textures really struggle to work.

Dylan Ahern

Using both

Tenger Kortel

I’m playing 128x because I’m also running shaders and my computer can’t handle anything more haha
