Weekend Pinup—Jen 2022

(Though as I studied it further while drawing this I realized it’s one of her Shulkie sized outfits that she adapted for her human form—which makes sense because she wrecked her last Jen sized suit in the first issue.)
Have you read the comic? What do you think of it so far?
I’m actually liking it despite its slow pace and lack of both superhero and courtroom action. I was getting very frustrated because I thought for awhile it was only a five issue limited series and by issue 4 nothing much has happed to move the plot forward, but I see now there’s an issue 6 and 7 in the pipeline and it looks like they’re setting up several story arcs. There’s a new artist on this issue who I think also helped out with the last one and appears to be continuing with the book going forward and I like their style better than the one from before. I know it lacks the Shulkout factor most of us are looking for, but the incorporation of characters and settings from the Byrne, Slott, and Soule runs plus her previous tour with the Avengers in the Geoff Johns era still gives it some roots. I’m just glad Shulkie has an ongoing book again, and while I personally enjoyed seeing a more savage, brutal take with her I’m realizing how much I missed the more traditional Sensational version.
