Fan Art Freebies--March 2021

UPDATE: Just a reminder that’ I’m planning to do at least one Fan Art Freebie this weekend—assuming I get some suggestions! Leave a comment on who you’d like to see! :)

So I had to make an adjustment to my approach to Fan Art Freebies.  In my desire to even the playing field for all of you and also to keep myself from favoring certain subjects, while recognizing I can't do all of them, I was planning to collect your suggestions and pick a couple at random to do.  However, when I started to type a post calling for suggestions for this round, I got a message from Patreon informing me that taking that approach in fact constituted a raffle, which is prohibited on this platform.  (In fact, I just got flagged just now because I typed the word "raffle.")

So I deleted the post and thought things over.  The way I had been doing it gave every paying Patron a chance to have a sketch done, but only a chance.  That makes it a form of gambling apparently.  That never occurred to me because there are other rewards.  So I can fix the program either by opening it to everyone, paying or not, or choosing the idea myself so it's based on merit and not chance, or setting some other set criteria like "first three suggestions" though given people's varied internet habits to me that seems almost as random as pulling a name from a bin.

The final option, and the one I'm going with, is to do all of the suggestions collected over a specific window.  To keep myself from getting overrun, I'm doing it this way--leave suggestions for the next round of Fan Art Freebies in the comments.  Anything that's posted by 12:00 AM April 24th will be put in my bin.  Then each month I will pick one or two (or however many I feel I have time for) and do it.  I will keep doing this until I've used all the suggestions, then  put out a call for more.  So the only thing random is the order they will be drawn in and how soon.  I will also make the fan art posts public eventually, so if you make a suggestion now, then have to stop being a patron, if you follow the page you will eventually see the post regardless.  I post all of my fan art publicly eventually anyway.  Of course, active patrons will continue to get early access.  

Also, going forward, no OC's.  You'll need a commission for that.  (More on that soon.)
