As I said in another picture, sometimes when I write comics or stories it helps my creative process to sketch out the characters first. My longest and possibly the most popular comic I did for the BE Story Club was "Welcome to Chastity", and while I seem to recall having an idea going to writing that for a story about a Chinese girl and her goth best friend, it was more about a one of those cliche magical antique stores, and them coming across a box of magic tea (which fans of Fang Hua are probably taking note of right about now.). Either way the story evolved into the final product over the course of a year or so and one of the additions that set it apart from the initial concept was that of the character of Rayya Rahman. So this was the first and really rough sketch I'd done to sort of get it into my head what I wanted her to look like. To give you an idea of how old this is, I remember coming up with the idea after watching Slumdog Millionaire and picturing her dancing to the song from that movie's credits. Those hands though. Yeesh.
