2024-05-06 19:00:25 +0000 UTCThey do include those characters! Nils actually meets them and helps them on the way to their father. They didn't include anything about the tuberculosis, so it just seemed like the dad was a deadbeat, but they do tell that story

2024-05-06 15:35:49 +0000 UTCStill miffed that the Nils Holgersson anime left out the book's side story, where a girl's (almost) entire family dies of tuberculosis and her father leaves her to become a miner, because he thinks they're cursed, and then she and her only surviving brother travel the country to teach people about tuberculosis. I'm not lying. also: Rex is just Team Rocket.
