Update: Random Anime

Hey everyone! Hope you're doing well. I'm blown away by how many new people are joining the Patreon recently, so I just wanted to say thank you for the support.

I took a couple days off to rest after my waifus video, but now I'm back to working on new content! The first video that'll be out is going to be my 2022 recap and review, where I talk about everything I saw last year. I have it all planned out, and it's going to be an unscripted video, so I just need to record that and put it up.

I honestly think I might put the recap video on the second channel, since I want to use that more. My idea is that anything that isn't main content will go up there. So stuff like Q&As and recap videos. Mostly anything that's unscripted and I don't necessarily care about getting views on. I'll talk about it in the video, but I also want to upload lower-effort ramble videos, but I don't want to massively water down the main channel. So the second channel might get some use this year.

Though I do have an idea for the next main channel video. And that idea is something I'm calling the "Random Anime Review" (title pending).

Basically, the idea is that I have trouble picking anime to watch, so I'm going to be using a randomizer to choose something from MyAnimeList. The randomizer I found is spin.moe, which has over 18,000 shows and movies and stuff to pick from. And whatever it picks for me (live on video), I will have to watch and make content on.

I think the idea is fun because from what I've used of the randomizer, it picks some wild shows. There's stuff from all the way back in the 80s, and random R-rated OVAs from all over. So I think it might pick something cool (or it might just pick One Piece, who knows). And filming the process of me watching the show and having to make something out of it is both a good challenge and also good content.

The idea of the video is quite literally just RedLetterMedia's Best of the Worst meets IronPineapple's Soulslike videos. But funnily enough, I haven't seen anything online that's quite like it? I've tried searching up "random anime" on YouTube and the only video I found with the same idea has like 100 views. So if anyone knows someone who's done this before, I'd love to hear it. Because I can't be the only person who's thought of this.

But either way, I'm writing up a scripted intro for that and then just seeing where it leads me. After the waifu video I'm definitely feeling some lighter projects, and this seems perfect.
