Severance S2E10 Watch A Long

Hey Peaches! It's go time to save Gemma, and possibly take down Lumon for good. Can our rag tag team of Innies pull off the impossible? And what will our Innies do when the fateful moment arrives?

You probably wont read this but here is my take on what Gemma was about: If they can take a person, and compute and dissect everything that makes up that person, and use that to create a vessel where the severed innie (no matter how many) has ZERO connection to the outie vessel...no bleed overs like we've seen in common outies/innies...no shared thoughts or memories or shared empathy or emotion...then you can create a perfect vessel to reconstruct the essence of Kier into that vessel that will live again without being tainted at all by the original outie vessel. Sure, that means Kier would be reborn as an innie only, but that's ok, Lumon can make the innie permanent anyways. (its also good symbolism with the lore that Kier was always born as a twin) As for the ending, i thought it was beautiful and great. Adam doesn't know what he's talking about. Its a trope of the 60's, not 70's/80's. And its utilization in modern media is playing with that, not being unironically sincere about it like it was back in the day. I mean, Tarantino has made his career steeped in this :D Clearly with the music and the mystery box storytelling and the young love breaking away from norms...it was paying homage to media like that, especially the 60's TV series "The Prisoner" which was the seed of inspiration for every "mystery box series taking place in a bizarre, controlled setting" from Lost to Severance and hundreds of shows since its original airing. There are even countless of episodes in various series that pay homage to the 1960's "the Prisoner" as well. I get being turned off by the usage here because of ignorance, but it should be called out as such. Its loosely similar to people watching a movie or tv show and hearing a Wilhelm scream and thinking "wow that sounded stupid and cringy here", not knowing the history of its usage over the decades. Not a great example, but the only thing i could think of on the fly :P

We’re gutted Gemma got left at the door, but we’completely get why Mark S did it. Perfect writing.
