Bluey S2E09-12 Watch A Long

Hey Peaches! It's one of the episodes you've been waiting for. Bingo has a quite the dream, we argue about what is and isn't a pen, we go to the hairdresser, and we get the long await Chili centric episode. This one has it all, HURRAY!

Apparently it's because of how different broadcast standards show the framerate? The original version would look stuttery on American TV or something.

Oh, that may be why I'm having trouble syncing too. Thanks! I thought it was me just be a bit tech challenged.

The Order you watch this got so confusing. Sleepytime is the twenty-sixth episode of the second season of Bluey. Disney + sucks xd

Jay, you're nailing what makes parenting so damn hard. Setting boundaries. You are allowed to have them (in fact you and your kids both need them). Setting them is really hard because they frequently involve big feelings which makes everyone uncomfortable. It's our job to set the boundary and then let the kid sit with that feeling, show them that the feeling is safe and that we understand how they are feeling, but we still are going to hold boundaries of safety and respect. It's really effing hard, especially if you have a kiddo with delayed socio emotional/self regulation skills. The show definitely pushes the boundaries for the sake of silly fun times. I try and remember that the show is for kids and not a parenting manual. Your kids will respect you because you are with them everyday enforcing boundaries. They are not going to stop respecting you because Bluey occasionally ignores boundaries. You're doing a great job ❤️

What you're seeing there is the age-old battle between PAL and NTSC.

i had the same issue, i think that actually happens on a lot of streaming websites for some reason (them being desynced from the original platform it aired on etc.)

it really is true that often times the better and healthier options in life are hard work and take longer, i know people like to take easy shortcuts but that just doesn't seem feasible when raising a whole human being. you sound like a great parent and i bet those shirts are super cute!

PS these next 4 ARE SOO GOOD, Dad baby is wonderful, Army is truly so high on my list, Fancy Restaurant is a delight! and Stumpfest... My family has matching shirts, the kids will grow out of theirs, I one day imagine them stealing ours out of our closets.

Hi Jay and welcome to the Millennial parenting dilemma of how do we actually get our kids to respect us and other adult caretakers without fear of violence. My hope is that building respect and trust through kindness and care takes longer and is healthier in the end, BUT ALSO my four year old routinely screams at her grandfather for looking at her in the morning, after he has made her breakfast, sooo I don't know and I wish there was a short cut.

You can tell the moment Jay locks in, mouth hanging agape in awe and joy at what he was witnessing. And then that beautiful, gut-punching line spoken so wonderfully by Chili hits. Magic, Sleepytime is sheer magic.

Did Adam get the part that Chili is Bingos sun? So beautiful!

Sleepytime and Sticky Gecko are my 2 favorite episodes of the first 2 seasons. The 28 minute season 3 finale will be amazing when you get that far as well!

Weird experience of trying to watch these in Australia: I can stream Bluey for free through ABC iview (that's the "Australian" Broadcasting Corporation) BUT they don't sync with your reactions. For some reason Disney seems to have ever so slightly slowed the episodes down. I previously had a website with uploads of the Disney versions I was using but it got taken down. So now my solution is downloading the Australian versions and putting them in VLC where I play them at 0.96x speed. I'm curious if the new Blu-ray release (which claims to contain the "original Australian episodes") will be at the proper speed?

My niece is super into Bluey, so I've seen every episode dozens of times. Sleepytime never fails to leave me a sobbing mess.

Adam, do an image search of “Faber-Castell Connector Pens” to see how they work. The caps have a clip feature that allows them to connect horizontally to the other pens. Edit: grammar

I think what got me with Sleepytime was the music. A kids cartoon with a pretty IMO epic score? That got me in the feels.

Bee-Tea

This was a BANGER episode! I'm sure you're gonna have a blast with Dad Baby next week

Thank you for this comment. I had assumed that Judo was a child of divorce from "Butterflies" (just something about her awkwardness in playing with Bluey and Bingo reminded me of my experience as a child of divorce). But I didn't realize until reading your comment that this is another example of the writers depicting real life family situations, but not drawing attention to it.

When I first saw Hairdressers, I took it that the girls picked up on Chili's discomfort with Bandit's really disrespectful and dishonest attempts to flirt with her. (First punishment was a cold shower.) Maybe that's just being a woman, but I felt like this time Bandit really asked for what he got. (And why Chili permitted the girls to take complete power over his "treatment".)

Vanessa Sperling

Whoa. "Sleepytime" and "Rug Island" in the same watch episode? You dudes are hardcore.

I loved this episode so much! The reactions were just what I wanted. There’s been some discussion about Bluey and Judo based on this episode, because Judo and Wendy are shown to live next door to the Heelers. One of the bigger theories is that Wendy and Judo’s dad are divorced and Judo may not live with her mother full time.

My kids are both old enough now to have "big girl nights" and I have vivid memories of everything this episode shows. Hits in a sad, but very good way going back through those memories.
