Star Wars Rebels S2E21 Watch A Long

Comments

Well... Now Jay has to watch the Clone Wars.

Bernard Manansala

Iโ€™m watching this after meeting Rosario, Hayden, Natasha, Mary Elizabeth Mcglynn and Steve Blum this weekend, so thatโ€™s fun. I donโ€™t care much about how force physics work or not, but I do think it has the same energy dramatically as Marrok spinning his blade to show off, and Ahsoka just taking him apart.

Kate L.

I would think the idea is that the magnetic force fields that create the form and internal motion of the blade's energy are simply acting like physical objects. So when you spin them fast enough they're no different than helicopter blades (except for, perhaps, the shape and angle- which presumably can also be manipulated by the tech generating the blade form to begin with (as we see the Darksaber has a different shape, etc). And since we know that magnetic force fields in Star Wars can physically interact with atmospheric gases and particles (thus containment fields in docking bays, etc), it's just a 1+1=2 type scenario. But the amount of lift could be debatable, as you suggest. They could be using the Force to lift up, while the copter blades are creating more of a glider/parachute effect.

Tomorrow is going to be a great day. The better half of this finale and the finale to Hazbin ๐Ÿ‘Œ

I think the reasoning behind the sabercopter is the heat produced by the lightsaber and the opposed attraction of the twin blades produce a small amount of lift. That combined with force push allows the inquisitors the ability of flight.

Finally! Apart from the silly lightsaber helicopters (which disappeared after this), this two-parter is the BEST. STAR WARS. EVER. It came out the same time as The Force Awakens and kinda wiped the floor with it.
