But also, Buggy translated into Live Action very well, and the actor did a magnificent job! Let's watch Jay discover Buggy's powers for the first time..... :)

I picked up on that right away when I first watched it. (I'm surprised that I haven't seen anybody else Mahe that connection).

2024-01-31 06:45:25 +0000 UTCI agree with the actors being unknowns. Emily Rudd (Nami) was in the Netflix fear Street movies a few years back and Mackenyu Maeda (Zoro) is fairly well known in Japan (he is actually Sonny Chiba's son) but the rest are essentially unknowns

2024-01-31 04:49:01 +0000 UTCThis is my favorite episode. It does a lot of things differently than the anime, like Buggy's whole personality is pretty dark and wild here. He was never quite this menacing in the anime/manga. And yet they perfectly recreate this part of the story in live action form. Shanks is also amazingly cast. In fact I think the casting director deserves an award for the whole series.

2024-01-31 02:49:41 +0000 UTCLet us also acknowledge that the source material is amazing too, the showrunners had a lot to pull from. This story has a lot of heart, it also has a lot of darker tones. And to think the east blue saga is one of the least favorite/ranked arc, they really did well in translating it to live action, and possibly making it better :) glad you guys are enjoying it as much as we did!
