Halo S1E02 Watch Along

Hey Peaches! Master Chief is on the run with the McGuffin and young girl he saved from episode one. Turns out, Chief isn't the only Spartan to leave the program, as he heads off to see his old friend.  After the excitement of the last episode, this one really sets up the dynamic of the power struggle at the UNSC. Everyone has plan and machinations that include the Chief and the artifact. This is a solid episode and we can't wait to see how this all shakes out next week.

I don't know much about Halo, I had a lot of fun playing the local multiplayer with my friends back on the 360, but I have no idea about the story. That being said, I think these 2 episodes are okay, not great but not bad either. I don't want to jump on that "MASTER CHIEF NEVER TOOK HIS HELMET OFF!!!11!!!!" nonsense, but I guess I would prefer him wearing his helmet more often. It's totally fine that he takes it off in save situations but as soon as there is the slightest possibility of danger, he should wear it, whatever. I do have to say that I miss something unexpected actually. So far it's pretty standard storywise, it's actually knd of similar to Mandalorian if you break it down. I like it though, no shame or anything! Btw it's impossible for me to watch it fully synch to you. I don't know why, if I'm too fast or you too slow and maybe I'm th only one with that problem but I have to synch like 15 times every episode and a few moments later it's out of synch again, I don't know what's happening haha

FYI - Firefly was a Fox property and Disney now own all of Fox's properties.

Still quite astonished at how much I'm loving this show. I've seen every SciFi Tv show made in the past 30 years and they're doing a few things every ep which feel genuinely fresh & unexpected. They're also succeeding with a few *incredibly* difficult coexisting states in character composition: John is believably bewildered, hypercompetent, loyal, and questioning. Halsey's relationship with him melds scientific curiosity, convincingly warm parental overtones, believable feeling of lifelong cooperation as teammates on this project, and utterly dehumanizing consideration of him as asset/machine. Utterly superb shows have struggled with fewer emotional variables. The cast is really good. Speaking of which, if I'd had to see one more Halo game diehard refer to Yerin Ha (Kwan) as "Baby Yoda"... y'all would have seen my rampage on the nightly news. That "complaint" was obviously objectively wrong, but it was wrong in some other ways as well.

I think Vimeo was just having a hiccup. That, or your cache is doing the weird thing Chrome sometimes does. Watched it logged into a VPN I rarely use b/c I was downloading some old device software/firmware via torrent, wasn't logged into my Google account or my Vimeo, basically did everything I could do that would cause a content site to think I'm not a real person, and it played without issue.

I have only had this issue with a couple episodes of Squid games personally, i think episodes 3,4,5 but other than that I have not run into this. Also make sure to clear your cache, if you are using chrome you do that by shift+ctrl+del and then go to cache and delete it. They say it wont log you out of any sites but sometimes it does so be prepared for that. But it might fix overall issues, other than the episodes i am talking about.

Edit: FIXED IT! But leaving this here incase anyone has the same issue. To fix it I went to vimeo's website and logged myself in so from vimeos end they would have no need to ask me to log in. Then I restarted my PC. I dont know if I needed to go to vimeo but logging out or both fixed it and now I can watch. YAAAAY... back to the original comment. I think something is wrong with vimeo... might just be for me. I pay the $7 monthly so I should have access to most of your videos. But when I try to play the stuff that is unlocked I get a screen that replaces the vimeo player and it says "Unlock the power of video. Simple tools for any professional," then the rest is cut off. Its no longer a player. It is a small window to Vimeo's site and it asks me to log in to vimeo. If I log in I get an "accounts.google.com refused to connect." I hope this isnt a new thing. I wanted to watch the this episode with all but it doesnt seem I can. I hope this is fixed soon... I wonder if its an issue with vimeo because yall have said they arent happy with how much you upload.

Please don't think I am trying to be rude either. You guys seem like the type who appreciates honesty from their patrons and I wanted you guys to know why I was leaving. I'll be keeping up with you on YouTube!

So I can watch all of your other reactions for $5 but yall are gonna make me pay $7 for Moon Knight. sorry but im gonna have to leave your patreon. I can't be the only one to think this; you guys don't have enough to offer to make me pay you any money at all anymore.

Unfortunately they don't have the rights to the Martin O'Donnell score. He is in a legal battle with Microsoft / 343 Industries over royalties. https://www.polygon.com/22929132/halo-composer-marty-odonnell-mile-salvatori-music-lawsuit-microsoft although they authorized the 5 second clip of music for the 2nd trailer

You guys hit it on the head in the analysis. The haters are just frustrating themselves and depriving themselves a great show. This series is completely nailing it as far as I'm concerned. With regards to the comment about nobody doing anything with Firefly, just remember that when Disney acquired 21 Century Fox in 2019, they got 100% of Fox Films and about 70% of Fox cable networks (exceptions being Fox Sports and Fox News), including the giant Fox library of movies and shows (which now mostly air on Hulu/FX, which was also part of the acquisition). Starting last year, Movieweb and Giant Freakin Robot claimed they had credible rumors that a Firefly reboot was being planned for Disney+. This year, Popcast claimed they had a legit insider confirm that it was true (you can see their claim here - https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=GfdJbKEcBbA ). Of course, this is all based off anonymous sources, so who knows what's really the case, but it is definitely plausible.
