The Silt Verses RPG Preview Is Here

Hi, folks - some seriously big and exciting news for you today!

The RPG mavens and mavericks at The Gauntlet have finalised the deluxe preview of the Silt Verses RPG (the full release will come at the end of the month).

While we all wait, they've kindly provided us, and you, with a deluxe preview edition containing everything you need to kick off a few games (you'll need the full game to run an entire campaign).

I've just taken a quick look myself, and to put this as professionally as I can, it all looks absolutely BANGING. (The artwork is extraordinary.) It's just a stunning achievement.

Jason and Gabriel can explain the game much better than I can, so I've dropped in their introduction to the RPG below - but if you have any questions, or you're just keen to find out more, please do head to The Gauntlet's Discord to get involved.

In the attachments to this post, you'll find an 80-page rulebook preview, character sheets and campaign sheets and more (both as individual items and a master zip file that should contain everything you need).

If you have any issues accessing the materials, please just let me know - Jason and Gabriel have also included a typo form below in case you spot any stray commas.

Today we're excited to present you a deluxe preview of the game, with the full release to come at the end of the month. We'll dive into the details of this release in a moment, but for now, we want to strongly encourage you to join us on The Gauntlet Discord server. The Gauntlet is a terrific community of gamers and game designers, and we're ready to help you understand what this new game is all about, how to play it, and how to create for it.

In The Silt Verses RPG, you play Custodians, employees of the Bureau for the Investigation and Assimilation of Stray Deities. In a world with tens of thousands of gods, your job is to track down the forgotten and stray deities causing trouble in the community and... deal with them. Sometimes that means figuring out how a community can co-exist with the god, and sometimes that means eliminating the god's threat in a more extreme way. Regardless, you are a pawn within an uncaring system, and will eventually be the target of a conspiracy that will try to use your work for its own nefarious purposes.

This release contains enough material to play a few sessions of the game. To play a full campaign, you'll have to wait for the full release at the end of the month. Until then, you have time to read through the rules and get a feel for how the game works.

The Silt Verses RPG: A God Must Feed

If you'd like to see the game in action, Jason Cordova is running it on his YouTube channel. The series is called A God Must Feed, and in addition to being a great resource for how to play this game, it's just damn entertaining. You can find that playlist here.

The full game release is coming!
