News: Awards, The Silt Verses RPG, and the future of us (poll!)

Audioverse Awards 2022

A huge thank-you to anyone who voted for us in last year's Audioverse Awards! The results have just come in overnight, and we're shocked and thrilled to have won 10 awards, including Best Existing Audio Play Production.

We also received wins for some of our brilliant cast members and collaborators (call us greedy, but it's hard not to wish it could have been all of them!) including Méabh de Brún and B. Narr for Best Performers, and Jonny Sims and Harlan Guthrie for their scene-stealing Best Guest Performer turns.

The Silt Verses RPG

We mentioned the Silt Verses RPG at the start of the month, but if you're not on social media, you might not have seen some more details and updates that have been coming out from the good folks at the Gauntlet:

- The plan is to release the initial digital version of the game to supporters on both the Gauntlet and Silt Verses Patreon feeds (that's this one, hooray) - provisionally in summer 2023. Exact details to follow, so watch this space.

- At a later date, crowdfunding will then follow for the physical edition of the game.

- If you're intrigued and excited (as we are), snippets and discussion around the game have been popping up on the Gauntlet Discord, which you can follow here.

Writers and creative folk may also be interested to see that the Gauntlet is currently running a writing contest, with prizes, for their analog-horror RPG Public Access, which got a glowing write-up in Bloody Disgusting just last week. Go take a look!

Been thinkin' about the future

Don't worry; we have a ton of work to get through before it actually comes to this - completing our Patreon side projects and producing and releasing The Silt Verses Season 3 are our immediate priorities.

But we are now starting to keep one eye on the distant future of House Eskew - for audiodrama projects in 2024 and beyond. And we'd love to hear your views on that topic, because after all you're the ones who've helped us get this far.

What we’d like to do

We'd love to keep creating independent audiodrama for years to come (and your support on Patreon makes that possible, so a huge thank you as ever!).

But we also want to be realistic. We're still a mostly part-time core team of two; at our current state of play we’re only going to have capacity to work on one major project at a time (with a show's season taking at least half a year depending on scale and ambition) and we don't want to overstretch ourselves and burn out.

So we want to ensure that the next significant production we work on post-TSV is something our audience is going to want to listen to, and that as many of you amazing Patrons as possible are likely to want to stick around for.

What we'd like to know

We’ve divided the short poll below into a couple of different rounds - Round 1 is to get a general sense of what genres you’re most interested in seeing from us, and Round 2 covers your opinions on show length.

There's also an option for you to let us know if you're really only here for TSV content and you wouldn't necessarily want to stick around on Patreon for future shows. (Hey, it'll sting, but it's really important for us to know.)

We'll follow up shortly with a second poll, which covers some specific ideas for future shows that we're itching to work on.

Thank you very much for your input!

Another reply from someone with a strong feeling of "I trust that anything you make, of any length, is going to be something I want to listen to."
