Merch Question.

How does a pre order work? I have no idea. Maybe it will become obvious when you nail down the product? 1)pick a product and a design 2) get pricing, pricing probably varying depending on quantity. 3)man I don't know this this looks like a lot of work International shipping! Blah!

You're quite welcome! I'm glad you're enjoying the "products" that I AM putting out as it were. The Merch stuff is a fun idea, but at my core, I'm still a writer.

So I'm a big dummy dumb dumb, and my google fu is not...great. Multiple people have suggested it though. How does pre-order work? Because I want to make something interesting that people want and enjoy, but I also don't want to lose money myself or overcharge anyone.

I clicked on it would depend but honestly I doubt it. I'd have to see something I can't live without. I had this one idea: Write a story with the motivation of merch in mind? A superhero in a onesie with a big S on his..... a big R on his chest, then team up or bulk buy onesies and have them printed to match said hero. I also agree with the preorder model, if your worried about putting up your own capital

I would get books or other subtle things from you, for sure. What scares me always is what it would cost to get in Europe (but that's not something you can control yourself).

Unfair is such a long story, but if you did multiple volumes once it’s all done that’d be a great option.

I say keep it simple, a coffee mug or shirt with your trade mark writer sitting down on the front. Take pre-orders. If it does well, take more.
