2025-07-03 13:59:43 +0000 UTCJust the very first scene of this episode, up until they realize it has happened before, a "repeat," is a homage/retelling of the first scene of the first episode, with a few updated differences in dialogue. And yeah, they are referencing Independence Day, Contact, Dukes of Hazzard, and likely others. And there are a bunch of shows, especially from the 90's, that feature people retelling their "alien abduction" stories, whether they themselves believe it or are paid actors. Cartman has been in space about 5 times due to his abductions in that first episode, and the boys here and in "Starvin' Marvin in Space," but you have to see "Starvin' Marvin" first. Watch "Mecha-Streisand" too while you are digging around those first seasons, it comes back around later, and the Starvin' Marvin episodes are gonna be referenced in the new season too, according to the trailer.
