Agreed, but also, the show is making light of very particular aspects of black culture/life, so it kinda requires you to have certain sensibilities or an understanding of those aspects to truly get why it’s so brilliant. I think the show is funny/great enough to enjoy without knowing those things, but to fully enjoy, those nuances are important….regardless, it’s one of the top 3 greatest “slice of black life” shows of the 2000’s (Chappelle Show & The Wire being the other 2).
