IOS App charges
Added 2025-02-13 12:29:46 +0000 UTCHey everyone! I know a lot of you are probably already aware, but just incase you aren't I wanted to draw your attention to the IOS charges that apple users may be facing in the IOS app version of Patreon.
Apple have added some pretty hefty charges to purchases made on the patreon app. They have added a 30% charge on any purchases made within the IOS APP on patreon. This may not seem like a lot at first glance, but can quickly add up. Items charged at £20 will cost you £26 in the app.
I would like to encourage you, where possible to use the web browser version of Patreon to support your favourite creators, this both helps you save money, and doesn't line the pockets of a major corporation like Apple.
Additionally, there is a 75 day wait period for creators to receive any payouts made via IOS purchases, which is quite ridiculous..
Hopefully this helps some of you save a little extra in the long run.
