The folder browser is a way to tag and rate a set of folders on the local hard drive and display them with a preview or for a gallery it's content quickly. Further more it lets you filter the local folders by the tags and ratings. I tried very hard to find a program that does it and most people recommended totalCommander. I tried hard but I couldn't make it work. It was too clumsy and inefficient and never resulted in exactly what I wanted. Online these things exist everywhere. Every art website is easily browse and filterable. But local that's a different story. So the folder browser is here to bridge this gap. It works completely 100% local. Zero online required. It's fast and requires the least amount of clicks I think. And I hope it's easy to use. The biggest flaw here are the webbrowsers and their limitations. But even with that I still think it's pretty good. So to wrap it up: The folder browser displays local collections quickly, completely offline, with previews, rate-, tag- and filter-able. PS: I recommend mass rename tools like (renamemaster (more simple),Bulk Rename Utility (more complex)) and alike for setting up collections. Tools like that are always helpful. They can even use regular expressions for renaming folders and files.
