Version 0.13 Status Update: Stickers!
Added 2025-10-18 00:42:35 +0000 UTCHello everyone! Today I'm excited to introduce the new feature I've been working which will be the focus of Baldi's Basics Plus version 0.13: Stickers!

As you play Hide & Seek (And endless mode!) you'll be able to collect stickers and stick them to the back of your You Can Think Pad (YCTP, which is what your map is if you didn't know). What do stickers do and how do you collect them? Keep reading to find out!
What do stickers do?
Stickers are the implementation of a long-planned feature, a per-run upgrade system! Unlike traditional roguelikes however, stickers are not all simple stat upgrades. Many of them modify the game in unexpected ways when applied. Here are just a few examples of planned sticker effects (All of these are subject to change):
Add an extra inventory slot
Reduce the number of out of order elevators in a level
Generate a safe room somewhere in the level
Doors stay open for an additional 15 seconds
Increase max stamina by 25% of the base value
Increase the time Baldi takes to praise the player for successfully completing an activity by 100% of the base time
Increase all earned You Thought Points by an additional 25%
Increase the discovery range of the map by 2X the current value
Show what the next random event is and when it will start
This is just a handful of planned stickers! I have several more planned, and of course will continue adding more as I come up with more ideas.
You may have noticed however that I said that stickers' effects will only kick in when applied. This is important, as you can only have four stickers applied to the back of the YCTP at once. If you look at the above screenshot, on the left is where you'll find your sticker inventory. These are all the stickers you've collected that you have yet to apply. The four slots on the right are where you can apply stickers. A sticker's effects will become active once stuck onto one of these slots. The catch is, once a sticker has been applied, it can't be removed, and if you place a sticker over another, the old sticker's effect will no longer be active!
You can access the sticker menu and apply new stickers whenever you want, so it's something you can dive into at any point during a game. Deciding when to give up old stickers for new ones will hopefully open a lot of new strategic possibilities when playing. Just be sure you're certain you don't need that sticker anymore before you cover it with something else!
One other important part of stickers is that they are all cumulative, meaning if you apply multiple of the same sticker, the effects will be added together! For example, if you apply four of the backpack stickers, you'll end up with four additional item slots, for a total of nine!

Whether or not you go for a variety of different stickers or focus on building up your favorite effect is up to you!
How do you get stickers?
As always with a status update, things are subject to change as I consider different ideas and test them out, but currently there are three planned methods for collecting stickers:
Buying them at Johnny's Store
Winning field trip minigames (Or giving Johnny the bus pass)
Correctly completing activities
That third one might seem a bit too easy, but there's a catch! Baldi is the one giving you something special for your great work, so they will spawn as pickups in front of him, wherever he is, when you solve an activity. That means you'll have to go collect them if you really want them! It's pretty convenient if he's in the room with you when you complete an activity, but some stickers will end up who-knows-where if you've gotten far away from him. Other times he'll be close enough for you to be tempted to grab a sticker immediately, but don't get too greedy or else you'll find yourself in a bad situation if Baldi finishes praising your good work!
Stickers will, in most cases, be available as pickups similar to items, however they'll all be wrapped in a foil packet so you won't know what's inside until you grab one and open it. The plan is to make it so that picking up a sticker packet will immediately play an animation via the HUD that reveals what was inside, so you won't need to pause the game every time you collect a sticker to see what you just found.
That's everything you need to know about stickers!
I hope you all look forward to this new feature! I think it will be a lot of fun for Baldi's Basics experts to play around with, and for those who are still struggling to beat the game, I hope it will give you the edge you need! Inevitably, some stickers will be much better than others, but I hope you all will experiment and find ways in which the more niche stickers can prove useful.
Currently, the plan is to release the early access version on October 27, followed by the public release on November 3. I have a lot going on at the moment, so I may not end up implementing all the stickers I have planned in time for launch, in which case I will try to continue adding more via smaller updates over the following weeks.
That's all for this status update! Thank you all for playing and for the support!

2025-10-21 00:26:40 +0000 UTClook at that last image, the one showing the multiple slots. notice anything odd? i do, he has the bus pass, considering theres 4 notebooks, THIS. IS. FLOOR. ONE. but, how would he have the items when just starting? is there gonna be a new feature where you can transfer items into runs? maybe. am i just overthinking?
