Baron Moh’s Keep

Baron Moh has glimpsed a future where a motley group of adventurers unravel the fabric of reality itself – whether by accident or design, he is unsure. This vision has driven the Baron to work against them at every turn, convinced that stopping them is the only way to prevent the looming catastrophe. Unfortunately, their obsession with future visions makes them blind to the nuances of the present, leading them to misinterpret the adventurers’ every move as another step toward destruction.

The baron operates out of this small five-level keep (there are also dungeons beneath the keep, but those are for another day – just dig through the blog and pick a dungeon map that will work here for your games). The keep is a small curtain wall linking a gatehouse (two levels + rooftop parapets), round tower ( 4 levels with a conical roof) and the keep proper (5 levels). The round tower is also connected to the keep on the fourth level (the top level of the tower).

The ground level is a tight little courtyard with stables. Except for the stables, none of the buildings are accessible from this level; instead, you must climb the stairs to the main keep or the stairs to the walls and towers.

The baron is a strange foe with a long enigmatic past. Long ago, Baron Moh was imprisoned in a shimmering cage that seemed to be made of liquid silver. They spent decades inside, unable to age, hunger, or sleep – only watch as the world moved on without them. How they escaped remains a mystery, but the experience left them with strange silver markings across their body and an obsession with time. Another strange side effect of his imprisonment outside of time is “the voice that whispers back” – whenever someone whispers within 30 feet of the Baron, the air around them subtly echoes their own words back to them in reverse.

The 1200 dpi versions of the map were drawn at a scale of 300 pixels per square and are 12,000 x 18,000 pixels (40 x 60 squares). To use this with a VTT you would need to resize the squares to either 70 pixels (for 5′ squares) or 140 pixels (for the recommended 10‘ squares) – so resizing the image to 2,800 x 4,200 pixels or 5,600 x 8,400 pixels, respectively.
