Smart OMSP System Demo & Testers Wanted!
Added 2021-06-12 05:43:30 +0000 UTCHelloooo my friends!! I am wrapping up quite a few items for you all! I have been working on filling requests from the patron-only form so over the next few days you will be getting lots of new content from me in addition to more updated older sets!!
But I digress, because this post is about a set I have been working on since DECEMBER! I have run into so many challenges so I slowly picked away at them over the last 6 months. And I think its almost ready to go!
The video above is a quick overview/explanation of how it works and what my vision was for the set. This currently only has one version for books, but I am adding one with lots of regular deco slots too.
I would really love any and all feedback on this as it will be a base for more add-ons (I am thinking A OMSP for placing postcards on fridges and more!). Also I didn't mention in the video but no MOO needed and slotted items won't be deleted with wallpaper changes :)
Please note the attached file is a WIP! Please make sure to put it somewhere in your mods folder you can easily delete when I release the final version.
Edit & PS: For the book slots only (not an issue for regular OMSP slotting), the placement of the books is a little hard. This is because I added a bunch of slots so you can mix and match the wide and thin books which means there are some overlapping slots. The alternative would be to have just wide or small books which would make placing them easier. However, I disabled your sims/maids from autonomously putting away the books and reading them! So once you take the time to place the initial book setup you wont have to redo it.
P.S.S. I mentioned a few setbacks in the video with the infamous red OMSP shelf and I don't think I did it in a super nice way. My intention was just to point out things I wanted to improve. Big red has been invaluable for the community for years! Amoebae is a very talented creater and you should all check out her latest work!

The shelf is fantastic, I played with thick and thin books, and it is a little fiddly to get them just right, but I think the flexibility more than makes up for it. I noticed a couple of very small things - 1. The shelf will "flip" sometimes and stick to the back of the placement grid when I'm moving it up and down on one of the edges (instead of centered). Not a showstopper, I can flip it back around easily. 2. On close zoom, the books and the shelf will disappear, but not at the same rate. For example, if I have 5 books on the shelf and zoom in, two of the books will vanish, zooming further in, the shelf and then finally the last books will vanish as well. 3. I could place a book on the furthest left edge, in the same spot as the vertical shelf support. The right side was fine. Patreon comments are not super friendly for QA reports, I do have screenshots of some of these findings I can send via other transport if they'd be helpful. Overall, this is bloody brilliant and you are a magical mermaid.
