OVERLORD- CH-97. Cold Moon and Ruthlessness
Added 2025-03-05 04:49:15 +0000 UTCThis is the Celtic sacred number 'three,' and he also possesses another blessing—Never Sleep. As the name suggests, the power of the 'Saint Number' can be exerted even on a night without the sun.
Three times the speed, three times the strength, three times the magic. A knight with such power should be "invincible," and it is precisely for this reason that the king entrusted him with this mission with confidence.
Yet now, he was completely suppressed.
He wielded his famous sword with masterful technique, but it could only leave shallow wounds on the slime before him. For this 'Ancient Shadow Slime,' such wounds healed instantly, and the knight's fire magic had no effect on it.
High-level Sharp Weapon Resistance!
Absolute Fire Resistance!
Intermediate Life Recovery!
If this were a contest of raw power, the knight might not lose. But for him, this slime was the most difficult enemy imaginable. The absolute disadvantage in compatibility turned this mere slime into an insurmountable wall.
Pure black magic claws rained from the sky. The knight stepped back, narrowly avoiding the attack, but was immediately struck by a follow-up Shock Wave!
Though Lilith was not a pure offensive mage, her magic attacks, while limited in power, still dealt effective damage to her opponent.
"I think I've figured out your weaknesses." Lilith said, raising her hands.
The shadow slime continued to restrain the knight as one, two, three, four, five, six... a total of twenty earth walls rose from the scorched ground.
The knight's fighting instincts screamed that something was wrong. He tried once more to unleash his strongest attack with the holy sword.
Time Pause!
Lilith cast a tenth-order spell, freezing the knight mid-swing.
"Don't you even have a time strategy?" Lilith muttered, waving her arms upward while questioning the knight's combat prowess,"If you move any faster, I won't be able to pause you for long."
A turquoise anti-magic glow appeared on one side of the earth walls. Like the Stone Wall, it wasn't a particularly high-level spell, but it was enough.
The blazing sun in the sky—unlike the real sun, it was essentially just a massive fireball of magical energy—was now surrounded by towering stone walls closing in from all directions, completely enveloping it.
Then, time resumed.
The brightness of day vanished, plunging the world back into darkness in an instant.
The scorching magical energy burned against the inside of the earth walls. Though an anti-magic protective layer had been applied, Lilith had used only low-level magic to conserve her energy, so it wouldn't last long.
It was unclear whether the knight's strength depended solely on the existence of the small sun or if he needed to be exposed to its light. Lilith's approach was merely an experiment.
The knight's attack didn't stop, but by sensing the scale and purity of his magic, Lilith knew she had been right.
"Sword of Rotating Victory!"
Another wave of light burst forth, but this time, even the absolutely fire-resistant slime shield was unnecessary.
With a wave of her hand, Lilith effortlessly blocked the attack. At the same time, she activated Shadow Binding once more, ensnaring the knight. She snapped her fingers and raised her arm. A magical spear began to materialize in her palm.
"If you're just a 'battle puppet,' breaking you shouldn't be a big deal." She said coldly.
She didn't aim for the head or heart but instead targeted the knight's lower body.
"Go ahead!"
Lilith hurled the spear.
A surging wave of magical energy erupted, resembling a small black meteor as it streaked toward the knight, carrying an aura of death. A hoarse, piercing sound filled the air—the wailing of souls trapped within the demonic power.
The world-class item Spear of the Goddess of Vengeance was, in the game's lore, the weapon of the world-class dungeon boss, the King of the City of Desire, the Ruler of the Night, and the Succubus Queen Crystal.
This spear imprisoned the soul of a man whose entire world had been destroyed by Crystal's betrayal a thousand years ago. As a result, it dealt extreme damage to men, earning it a reputation akin to the world-class tool Holy Iron Maiden, which specialized in attacks against women.
What Lilith used now was a high-level succubus racial ability—a spell that mimicked the effects of the Spear of Vengeance, a special attack magic designed to target men.
Magical energy raged, dust rose, and the knight vanished. Lilith frowned.
She hadn't felt the attack connect, which meant the knight had disappeared on his own. It was as if a summoned creature had been recalled by its master.
Lilith looked up at the sky and saw a majestic figure riding a Pegasus descending slowly.
"Oh? After I chased the dog away, the owner finally shows up?"

Author's Note:
Off-topic: In the setting of the Moon World, the triple-enhanced Gawain is on par with the normal Lancelot, so Lancelot (my father-in-law) is the strongest Knight of the Round Table.
The dark clouds in the sky gradually dissipated, and moonlight shone down. Though not as bright as the magical sun from before, its clarity was enough to illuminate the scorched land.
The stone walls, held aloft by gravity, crumbled piece by piece. Their interiors were charred, nearly burned through, but the fireball trapped within had also vanished.
Even without the moonlight, Lilith's succubus night vision allowed her to see clearly. Under the moon's glow, the figure before her appeared even more elegant.
The tall, well-proportioned frame, though concealed by silver-white armor, exuded a holy aura that stirred the deepest desires within Lilith as a succubus. The thought of defiling this pure and noble soul was irresistible.
The figure's face was entirely hidden behind a full-face helmet, but Lilith could sense their gaze fixed upon her. A chill ran down her spine as she realized this was a warrior far superior to the knight she had just faced.
"Rongominiat!"
"That's my name. You may call me 'Arthur'."
Squinting at the female knight who called herself 'Arthur,' Lilith committed the complex name to memory.
"You are not my target." Lilith replied.
