GOBLIN'S HAREM- CH-83. Even God couldn't save them!

However, in front of this little girl, Lorraine's usual cold demeanor melted into boundless tenderness.

Her cuteness and innocence stirred something deep within him, causing the dagger in his hand to tremble as hesitation flickered across his face.

With a heavy sigh, Lorraine’s heart softened.

He slowly placed the dagger back into his system backpack, abandoning his previous intention.

At that moment, he chose to protect her innocence rather than destroy it.

Perhaps this was one of the few instances where Lorraine’s humanity shone through in this cruel world.

He simply couldn't bring himself to kill the charming little girl before him. As he lowered his weapon, the turmoil in his heart settled, replaced by an unusual sense of calm.

But then, Annie’s red eyes flashed with hatred. She cursed coldly, "You think sparing me now changes anything? One day, I will put an end to your evil deeds with my own hands! Don't expect me to be grateful for your so-called kindness!"

While she was still cursing him, Lorraine suddenly moved—swift and deliberate.

Before Annie could react, he stole her first kiss.

She gasped in shock, struggling in his arms, but Lorraine held her tightly before swiftly pulling her into the goblin battle formation.

“Hold on tight, Boss! The enemy is approaching fast!” San called out, urgency lacing his voice. He then activated the goblin phalanx.

Like a massive war machine, the formation rumbled forward, its momentum building. The goblin warriors moved as one, charging into the unknown battlefield with unstoppable force.

Though this was their first real combat test, the disciplined goblins executed their training flawlessly.

Large groups of pig-headed monsters roamed the Shadow Forest, but as the formation advanced, the creatures were sent flying. Some were crushed under the relentless march of the goblins, their bodies trampled into the dirt.

San’s sharp eyes gleamed coldly as he fiercely commanded the charge.

At the front, heavily armored goblins led the attack, ensuring that even when they clashed with the bulky pig-headed monsters, they held their ground.

Behind them, the goblin warriors raised their iron shields, stabbing forward with spears and short blades, forming an impenetrable line—like a relentless, moving train.

One by one, pig-headed monsters fell, their bodies scattered in the wake of the formation’s advance.

Still, some goblins were not so lucky. Occasionally, a crazed pig-headed monster would grab a warrior from the ranks and devour him instantly.

Yet, compared to the pig-headed monsters, the goblins were far more civilized—especially those under Lorraine’s command. Their discipline rivaled that of human soldiers.

As they neared the rugged mountain peak, thick broken branches and jagged terrain created obstacles. The sheer number of pig-headed monsters only made progress more difficult.

During this brief pause, Lorraine activated his Magic Eye to analyze the enemy’s attributes:

[Individual Name: Pig-Headed Monster]
[Race: Orc]
[Level: 15]
[Skills/Talents: Gluttony, Mindless Charge, Experience Pack]
[Life Force: 250]
[Attack Power: 38]
[Magic Value: 0]
[Strike Resistance: 76]
[Magic Resistance: 30]
[Equipment: Random]

After scanning several enemies, Lorraine estimated that their levels ranged from 10 to 20. Given their stats, his second-generation goblins could easily overpower them.

Despite their size advantage, pig-headed monsters were slow and clumsy. The agile goblins could exploit this weakness through swift, coordinated attacks.

However, the real threat lay in their sheer numbers. A prolonged battle would leave the goblins vulnerable to being surrounded and overwhelmed.

Lorraine lifted his gaze. An unending horde of pig-headed monsters stretched across the battlefield, their numbers easily reaching the tens of thousands.

"What’s the plan, Boss?" San asked, his expression unreadable.

Lorraine held Annie tightly, his voice cold and resolute.

“We push forward.”

Annie relayed the command, and the goblin phalanx surged ahead, crashing through the enemy lines like an unstoppable force.

The splintering of thick branches echoed through the battlefield as the formation barreled toward the mountain peak.

Finally, as they broke through the last obstacle, they were met with a chilling gust of wind. The summit was within reach.

Below them, chaos raged.

A massive village lay under siege. Swarms of pig-headed monsters wielded crude weapons, launching relentless assaults against its defenses.

Scattered trees lined the roads, some still standing tall, others fallen amidst the rocky terrain.

But what caught Lorraine’s attention was the fire.

Some trees had been completely engulfed in flames, their blazing infernos licking at the sky. Smoke billowed, and the roaring fire cast an eerie glow over the battlefield.

The acrid stench of burning wood and blood filled the air, mingling with the desperate cries of battle.

Ash and embers drifted across the sky, painting the battlefield in hues of destruction.

Not long after reaching the summit, the goblin phalanx drew the attention of the enemy.

Groups of pig-headed monsters turned toward them, drawn by the scent of fresh prey.

Lorraine narrowed his eyes, surveying the seemingly endless horde.

‘Good thing I trained them in phalanx warfare… otherwise, we’d be dead already,’ he mused.

“Well done, San. You’ll be rewarded later,” Lorraine said, patting his subordinate’s thigh.

Having broken through the obstacles, they now occupied a more favorable position. The density of pig-headed monsters had decreased, making it easier to hold their ground.

Lorraine turned his attention to Annie, who remained in his arms, her lovely face twisted in fury.

But instead of responding, Lorraine simply withdrew his hand, remaining calm.

Annie was no ordinary girl—she was a Demon King-level monster, comparable to the legendary Mother of the Sky. If she were fully grown, she could obliterate this entire battlefield with a single wave of her hand.

Unfortunately, she was still too young and weak to unleash her true potential.

But Lorraine had plans for her.

She might be disobedient now, but he would train her… mold her… until she was ready to serve his purpose.

After all, he enjoyed raising little girls.

With the immediate threat momentarily contained, Lorraine ordered his men to rest and tend to their injuries. He carried Annie toward a large, sturdy tree, choosing it as a temporary resting spot.

He sat down, watching her closely, a mischievous smile playing on his lips.

Lorraine gently pinched Annie’s soft cheek, delighting in the way her red eyes flashed with anger.

“Stop it,” she muttered, turning her face away in irritation.

"Give up, little one. Stop struggling," Lorraine chuckled, his tone that of a teasing rogue.

Annie might be a future Demon King, but right now, she was just a stubborn, angry girl.

That made her all the more amusing.

As Lorraine continued his playful torment, Freya approached with a knowing smile.

“Master Lorraine, we found something during our rest—a large chest filled with gold coins.”

At her words, Lorraine’s gaze shifted toward the treasure.

The gold gleamed under the dim firelight, but as he looked closer, he noticed something unsettling—each coin was stained with blood.

These weren’t just treasures. They were soaked in the suffering and sacrifices of countless lives.

Once, people would have killed for these coins.

But here, surrounded by war and death, they were nothing more than lifeless stones.

Lorraine sneered.

This was the truth of wealth.

For gold, people had abandoned morality, discarded love, and betrayed family.

And now?

With war tearing the world apart, they finally realized…

Gold couldn’t save them.
