MCU- CH-224. Jarvis, the loyal servant

When Howard heard Luke say that Tony and his friends were able to travel through time and space using the Pym particles discovered by Hank Pym, a sudden flash of insight struck him.

An old case now seemed to have an answer. He might finally know where the lost Pym particles went!

"No wonder we couldn't find any clues. That old guy Pym always believed Nick Fury and I secretly stole his Pym particles!"

Howard finally understood the reason behind his fallout with Hank Pym, but he couldn't help but smile bitterly.

Even with this realization, could he possibly summon Tony and Captain America from the future to resolve the misunderstanding? Obviously, it was impossible.

Later, Howard asked Luke many questions. It was only then he realized that, despite knowing many secrets of the world through the SHIELD, there were still countless mysteries hidden from him.

"Luke, where is the Titan who will bring catastrophic disaster to the entire universe? Can we do anything to stop him?"

Howard, uncertain how to address Luke, simply used his name.

When Thanos was mentioned, Howard remembered that Luke had said the Titan destroyed half of all life in the universe with just a snap of his fingers.

The magnitude of such destruction was enough to send chills down Howard's spine.

As someone who was born at the end of World War I, had grown up witnessing its impact, and later saw the horrors of World War II firsthand, Howard deeply abhorred those who instigated wars. In his efforts to end the conflict, he had contributed significantly to the government's war efforts.

But he simply couldn't fathom the annihilation of half the universe's life in an instant.

Thus, he asked Luke if it was possible to prevent such a catastrophe, even though it had already occurred in another timeline.

"You don't have to worry about this. With the Purple Titan's current strength, he could destroy the entire universe far more easily than just snapping his fingers. Even if he perished, half of the universe's life wouldn't feel pain from the loss of the other half."

Howard thought the first part of Luke's statement, assuring that there was no need to worry, was somewhat comforting—until the second half left him utterly bewildered.

Destroying the entire universe was easier now, and that was supposed to be reassuring?

Yes, if everything was annihilated, there truly wouldn't be anything left to worry about.

Seeing Howard's dazed expression, Luke continued:

"I've already fought him once, and this universe is now under my protection."

Hearing this, Howard felt a mix of skepticism and relief, though he suppressed his shock.

Even if he believed in Luke's divine identity, Howard couldn't completely trust every word he said. After all, his dealings with politicians had taught him how truth could be twisted or concealed.

"Luke, maybe you could leave your name behind. The people of Earth would chant it in gratitude and become your believers."

Howard said this in an attempt to curry favor with Luke for humanity's sake.

"There's no need. Faith has no effect on me." Luke replied dismissively. He wasn't some lesser god who depended on belief to gain power.

"However, you don't have to call me God. You can address me as Mr. Luke if you prefer something more human."

Howard was slightly taken aback by Luke's words. This "god" didn't appear as arrogant or dismissive of mortals as the deities of myths and legends.

"Very well, Mr. Luke. My apologies for any offense."

"Mr. Luke, you mentioned that someone of interest to you has appeared on Earth. Do you need my help finding them?"

Howard recalled Luke mentioning his purpose for coming to Earth and was naturally curious about who could draw a god's attention. He offered his assistance eagerly.

"No need. I've already locked onto them."

The Sentinel's uncontrollable energy was as obvious as a beacon in the dark. It wasn't difficult for Luke to locate him.

"Oh, here you go. You nearly gave your life for this thing." Luke said, casually tossing the cooled reactor core back to Howard.

Howard carefully caught the glowing core, marveling at its azure light. It was the greatest discovery of his life.

"Please summon your butler. I'll be staying in your home for the time being."

"No problem, Mr. Luke. Perhaps you could even have a chat with Tony." Howard suggested with a polite smile.

He then called for his trusted butler, "Jarvis, the experiment is over. You can come in!"

"Yes, sir!"

Hearing Howard's voice, Jarvis finally breathed a sigh of relief. But when he entered the room and saw Luke standing beside Howard, his eyes widened in shock.

Luke, however, made no effort to conceal his otherworldly presence.

"Jarvis, this is my distinguished guest. You may address him as Mr. Luke. Please ensure he's treated well during his stay and notify Tony to return home immediately."

Howard didn't reveal Luke's true identity to Jarvis, but his tone and demeanor conveyed that Luke was no ordinary guest.

Jarvis, an experienced butler who had served Howard for decades, quickly composed himself and bowed respectfully.

"Mr. Luke, it's a pleasure to meet you. I am Edwin Jarvis, Mr. Howard's butler. It is an honor to serve you."

"You are indeed an excellent butler. Your name will be remembered by many." Luke said with a slight smile.

While Jarvis didn't fully understand Luke's remark, he accepted the praise humbly.

Howard, however, immediately grasped the significance. Luke was referring to how Tony, in the future, would name his AI after Jarvis in tribute to his loyal service.
