Update #126 A blend most savory

Chowdy! It's like howdy but with added chowder. Seeing as I have never had chowder, I don't know whether that's actually a good thing or not.

On the one hand I feel like I've gotten a solid amount done this week, on the other hand I'm still working on scene 13. I did tell you it was long. I have began working on the spicy scene though, and the first animation was freshly printed just today. Should finish it during the coming week and begin on scene 14.

Scene 14 is mercifully short, and then it's just the final big one to make.

Is it just me or is it hot in here?

I recommend quite a lot of books on here, this week I actually watched the first (and as of yet only) season of an anime. Is it called anime if it's Chinese? Whatever, it's called Lord of Mysteries.

I read quite far into the webnovel a while back, up to maybe chapter 500 or something like that. It's been in the back of my mind to go back and finish it at some point. Just recently I saw that this adaption existed, and it was great!

Most Chinese webnovels, well the one's I've read, are all wuxia and xianxia. Lord of Mysteries has some DNA from all that, but also takes heavy inspiration from Victorian era England, occultism, and Cthulu mythos. Quite the savory blend.

Outdoors lighting with multiple skin colors is still tricky

Yeaaaah, as you might see from these images, and the ones from last week, calling all this "Scene 13" is a tad bit misleading. More like a chapter of several scenes or something. Shall I ever learn to be more consistent with things like this?

Have to say though, I'm surprised with myself that I'm still filled with motivation to make this game. I would've thought at this point that it would've gotten to the point where I'm more excited to make something else and I'd have to push myself to finish this one. But no, I'm still genuinely excited for this.

I think it simply has to be that I've gotten so much positive feedback from you guys, otherwise I'm sure it would've been much more difficult to keep this same amount of excitement on the same project for this long. Cheers and thanks for that!

Occasionally I see influxes of people here on Patreon that I'm not sure where they've come from, since my own attempts at marketing are more or less non-existent. Presumably someone must've dropped a recommendation somewhere, so I'd like to give a big thanks to anyone that has ever done so as well.

I wish I could clean with magic

There are more and more places online where I feel like my mental health takes a hit just from spending time there. So much ragebait, so much stupidity, so much nonsense. Cutting more and more places I used to visit of the web.

The internet just feels more... corporate. I envision a future where the word corporate is thought of in much the same way we now use words like tyrant or dictator, which didn't always have the negative connotations we have today.

I at least feel safe in asserting that my little updates here are about as far away from corporate as can be. That's nice, I like that thought. Such shall be my final words in life: At least I was not corporate.

Anyway, that's about all I have for you today.
