Diabolical pleasantries to all.
Diabolical is a damn fine word, real fancy. Too bad I couldn't think of an equivalent to greetings that start with a D to make it... uh... what's the word again? A-something... Alliteration! That's it! Yeah, couldn't make it alliterative.
Brain is a bit mushier today than usual, if you hadn't noticed yet. I finished scene 7, which you can see in three of today's previews. One preview also shows gives a little peek into scene 8, where I decided that the Empress needed a new dress.
Oh cruel world, give me just one magical demon maid of my own. Please! I swear I'll be good! The only reason she got a new dress is that her normal one doesn't bend, which makes it impossible to have her sit down in it. Now, you might say, "Wait a minute, didn't she sit on a throne inside the arena?" Why yes, indeed! But you if you go back and check, you may note that you don't really get to see her lower body at all.
Camera angle magic strikes again! Or as we might say in Swedish, kameravinkelmagi! If that's not a term already, I just coined it. I'm something of a term-coiner, you see. Is that a term, or did I just coin that too? I have no idea!
But that's a good thing! Because, you see, the greatest literary minds make shit up all the time! Shakespeare more than anyone! Have I actually read Shakespeare? Of course not, why would I read theatre? It's for watching! Not that I've watched it either, mind you, but it's fun to be elitist about things that you don't actually know all that much about.
May as well show off the scene 8 preview now since I'm already talking about it.
That's the bluest render I've ever made. Probably.Uh, don't mind the... French thingies? Are they French? The yellow thingies on the chair I mean. I just used this throne room for expediency, didn't feel like making a cool custom one. In this world they're totally some type of elven heraldry. They're uh... Leaves. Of a tree. A fancy tree important to elves in general. No, I didn't just make that up, that was totally thought through since a long time ago. Super long time ago.
Dress is fancy at least. Not many fancy dresses to choose from that are fit for a throne instead of a cocktail party. The fabric might look a bit more plastic than the intended silken in that render, but that's fine because plastic doesn't exist in fantasy so no one could possibly mistake it. Also no brains and/or testicles filled with microplastics, woohoo!
By the way, the word expediency was on my mind since I just started reading The Devils by Abercrombie sans Fitch. Very fun so far, very fast paced. Reads almost like a movie. Except that movies tend to feature somewhat less excrement. I suppose books also typically feature less excrement. Unless it was written by Georgie-boy, he also likes his excrement. Have you ever noted the similarity between excrement and sacrament? Wonder if a priest ever misspoke during mass. That'd be the talk of the town for weeks!
Finally the title of the update makes senseAs I've mentioned before, scene 8 is a bit of a long one. Goal for next week is to fully finish it, should be achievable since I got started this week already.
Scene-wise we're closing in on half of update being finished. Do keep in mind that there are more spicy scenes in the latter half, and they tend to take more time/effort to make. But still, pretty happy with how the update is progressing so far.
In an ideal world I'd finish the entire game in 2026, but I am not making that some official goal. As I keep mentioning, deadlines stress me out too much for them to actually help my productivity. But it's a nice metric to keep in mind so that I can see how much I miss it by.
That's all I have to harp on about today.
Thank you so much for your support, and I wish you a diabolically fancy week!
