Episode 7 Release

Welp, finished a bit quicker than I thought when I posted the last update. Mostly because I've more or less been working since then.

Been over-consuming caffeine the last two or three days. Maybe more actually, not sure. Gonna wean myself off of that for the next week, take it a little chill while I figure out what the next episode is going to be.

Got myself that Gofile subscription now, so the links will stay up which is neat. If there's any issue with the links, or if you need them uploaded elsewhere for some reason, do comment and I'll see what I can do. Naturally that's also the case for any issues or bugs with the game, and what not.

Although I'm not sure how available I'll be for the next few hours, I'm thinking of sitting myself outside in the sun with a book for a bit.

Oh, also haven't come up with an episode title. Hm.

Episode 7 - To Kill a Seagull

Yeah, let's go with that.

Download links:

(It's direct download links this time, so don't be scared when it starts immediately.)

As per usual, the post will be opened up to the public in two weeks.

Thanks! Yeah, it's tough. It's taken me a long time to figure out how to get myself consistently working on something. Not sure how much my methods will work for anyone else, but I do recommend trying stuff out and see if any of it helps you. First off: Building routines. The ADHD/ADD brain is kinda shit at actually building them, no fast dopamine to get there, but once you actually have them they work. For me, the only routines that really stick are the ones I do daily, otherwise they become too easy for me to break. Second: Caffeine. I think it's called executive dysfunction? The thingy where you want to do something but it's nearly impossible. Caffeine mostly removes that for me. I try to stick with ~200-250 mg per day, as to not mess up my sleep later. I refer to this as my self-medication. Third: Remove distractions. I use an addon for my browser called LeechBlock NG, I put it on for a few hours when I have my caffeine and it stops me from going on all the sites I normally go to distract myself. Sometimes I have to turn off my second monitor as well. Fourth: Healthy living. Regular physical exercise results in more mental energy. More mental energy means it's easier to focus. Simple as. Well, not that simple since you have to build a routine and all that for this as well. But it's worth it! Find a way to exercise that you don't hate, that's important. If you don't care for the gym, maybe biking, or climbing, or hiking, or dancing, or skating, or joining a local sports team or... Well, point is, there's a lot of options. There's probably something out there for everyone. Fifth: Positive reinforcement. From when I've talked to others with ADD/ADHD, they tend to have similar issues to me where we get very upset with ourselves for not managing to be as productive as we think we should've been today. That resentment then turns into stress to do more tomorrow, and it builds and it builds until it all comes crashing down. Nowadays I make a habit of patting myself on the back when I've done my daily routines, even if my writing and reading and exercising were done a bit lazily today, it's alright, I kept the routine and that's what matters. *Pat pat* Good job, me! I've heard others write in a diary about what they're thankful for that day, and other such exercises. Point is, if you can get yourself in a positive feedback loop instead of a negative one, things become much easier. And of course, this all only works for me with things I'm actually passionate about. I love coming up with and telling stories, making this game piece by piece is something I enjoy. In contrast, even with all of these pieces of the puzzle put together, it's still a huge struggle doing things I don't care for. Man, that turned out way long. Hope it's of any help, to you or anyone else that happens to read this. Cheers!
