Update #105 Goal in sight

Heyo! It's ya boy Gary, bummin' up the joint!

I really don't know what bummin' up the joint is supposed to mean, but it sounds like plausible slang so I just went with it. It could be lighting up a blunt, it could be a homeless person entering a fancy building, it could be being sexually assaulted in prison. Maybe it's all three at the same time, I dunno.

Well, regardless of that, you're probably more interested in the progress of the game. Every render for the episode itself is done, I've put it all in code together with animations, music, and sound effects. Also added a setting to change the transparency of the dialogue window, which turned out to be simpler than I thought. Mostly because I copied someone else's code of course. #CodeMaster3000

Mm, yes. Quite. Indubitably so.

The main thing left to do is a full playthrough to make sure things work the way they should, and simultaneously edit dialogue to make it just a bit sharper, and also clean up any spelling/grammar errors that I find.

I do need to add a little credits thingy, since a few people have actually joined the extra high tiers (Thanks!) and I'm also planning to add two more renders to the main menu and maybe a new one for the exit screen. It would be nice to get the game out Sunday, but I think Monday is looking more likely. Depends on whether anything takes extra time due to some silly error. There's always something.

The final scene is probably longer than it needed to be. Now that the release is close at hand all the doubts like that start bubbling up to the surface. I've always been one to shy away from trying my hardest at things, it leads to expectations, and I am uncomfortable with having high expectations put on me.

That's something I've started to feel with this game as well. I'm honestly not sure I've gotten any better at handling feelings like that, for the moment I'm just pushing on and seeing what happens. A lot of it is always going to be in my head, of course, but it's not really something one can change just like that.

I think the important thing for me is to try and stay in the mentality of being a learner. Every mistake is merely an opportunity to learn and improve.

Anyway, yeah, expect a release within the next few days. I'm going back to working on ensuring just that.
