Update #71 Back on track in time for halloween

Good news, everyone!

I did finish scene ten and eleven, and we're just about to start working on scene twelve. Been a bit of a weird week. Some days it's been a struggle to get anything done at all, then other days I'm so deep into the zone that it makes up for the shit days.

I'm going to put effort into getting back into my good routines, been slacking with my workouts, and that tends to make everything else fall like a house of cards. Every now and then I must remind myself how deeply entwined physical and mental health are. More exercise = more mental energy. Which feels counterintuitive IMO, but once you start paying attention to yourself it's really noticeable.

Now, you may have noticed the picture up top. It's a 2k preview of the 4k set I did for halloween. It's doing double duty of halloweening up the update, and a little marketing for the 4k sets in general.

 Damn it, Tanathil. Ruru told you to stop thinking so much.

I've struggled a lot with getting lighting outdoors to look nearly as good as lighting indoors, I feel like scene eleven (seen above) is a step in the right direction. That said, night time lighting feels a lot easier than daytime. Who would've thought that it would be hard to properly simulate a massive burning star 150 million kilometers away? Stupid sun. It's time to abolish the sun! Fancy lanterns for everyone!

Indoor lighting feels a lot simpler, though some awkwardness still happens. Sveida's neck below is a little too shaded.

 The hair looks real fancy though.

Scene eleven was quite pleasant to work on right now. Very simple set up, nothing fancy going on. Well, there's one slightly fancy thing going on, but it's not much work. Scene twelve will be right back to lots of stuff going on again, back into the arena. Luckily the booth is already set up, so that's nice.

I was planning on doing more with the actual fights, but I'm kind of going the easy route on them as much as possible. It's not really the point of the game anyway, so just a quick show of things happening is good enough I think.

 Ruru is clearly enjoying something. A nice snack, perhaps?

Also, do not mind the floaty leather bindings on that one book. It's uh... a magic book. Yep. Totally intended as a small background detail to further emphasize that it's a fantasy world with magic and stuff.

You think they bought it? Yes? Good, good. Gary gets away with it again. What do you mean they can read italics? Really? Uh-oh.

Heeeey, how about you enjoy a little spice. I insist.

 A real cozy bath, though I do wish the steam showed up better in renders.

I think that's about all I have for you today. I need to get started on my daily reading routing again. At 4 in the morning... Yeah, my sleep schedule is a bit questionable at the moment.
