Update #63 The power of extensions

Heyyyy, how you doin'?

Have I used that one before? I don't remember. Clearly, if I don't then no one else will either, so it's all good.

I've been having some troubles with getting easily distracted while working on the game lately. Well, more trouble than usual, that is. It always gets extra bad around The International (Dota 2 tournament). I then remembered an old friend of mine talking about an app he'd recently gotten on his phone for the sole purpose of blocking Reddit during certain hours of the day.

So... I decided to try getting myself a similar extension on my browser (LeechBlock NG if you're curious). And it seems to have boosted my productivity by quite a bit. It's concerning how often the block thingy pops up for me, without me even having noticed that I'd tabbed out of what I was doing to open up Reddit or Twitch.

Anyway, this week I've managed to fully make the first two scenes. Cheers for that!

We'll see if this newfound productivity boost stays, or if it's merely temporary. I've often tried different methods to work around my proclivity to procrastinate and it wouldn't be the first time something helps a lot for a little bit, only to taper off and leave me where I always was.

This week I also started a course on creative writing. I was worried that it might impact either my pace working on the game, or my stress levels, but so far it's been all good. Though one week isn't exactly much to go on, I think that as long as I stay on top of the course work it should stay that way.

Either way, these two scenes I made were fairly easy ones. There will be far more complex ones coming up, and I'll need to create a fair few minor characters for the episode as well. So please, tempered expectations.

These preview images... Not much to say about them, I think. Some sweating in the courtyard and a visit to the Empress's gardens. I do think some of the potential preview images in upcoming updates may prove more interesting, because there may be some fancy scenes. Assuming I manage to make them as fancy as they are in my head, of course.

Righto, I'm off to do my reading for the day. Gotta read Stephen King's "On Writing" for the course, good stuff so far.

...

I think the block thingy has stopped me about three times just during the writing of this update... Yeah, if your mind is as easily distractable as mine, I'd recommend trying something similar. This is where I'd post a partner link if I was sponsored, alas, no such luck.

Thank you so much for your support, and I hope we're all laser-focused in the coming week!
