Yo!
When was the modern bath towel invented? Is what I asked myself as I added one on Ruru in this scene. Apparently terrycloth has been woven since ancient times, but the modern version is Turkish and just a few hundred years old. I hadn't heard the word terrycloth before either.
So... not quite historically (or fantastically, I guess) accurate. But almost! And that's good enough for me. We'll just pretend they're ancient towels. Yep. I don't know what an ancient towel would look like anyway, but I assume a bit less fluffy than a modern one.
Progress so far is 283 renders and two animations. That should be about half of what I plan for the next episode. Now you may have noticed that I'm not one for making promises, but I really want to finish Episode 3 this year. So the goal is to get a release some time in December.
That should be achievable, but I won't set an actual deadline. Me and deadlines don't mesh. Douglas Adams once said,
“I love deadlines. I love the whooshing noise they make as they go by.”
Yeah, I relate to that. I genuinely work better without one. On a related note I really need to read Dirk Gently's Holistic Detective Agency some day. Just finished The Blacktongue Thief, real good book that, would recommend. Spelling tongue always trips me up though, I feel like it should be tounge. I guess it would be pronounced like lounge then, which is just weird come to think of it. Never mind, tongue it is.
Aaaaanyway, that's about all I had today.
Thank you very much for your support and I wish you good towels and a healthy tongue. Or just a great week if you prefer that, either works for me!
