I don't know what to call these practices, but basically it's trying to simply see something and recreate it in shades of gray.
Something as simple as seeing and recreating becomes complicated at first; one has perception issues, so one must pay close attention to detail and learn from one's mistakes.
If you can make something realistic, any non-realistic drawing you make will turn out well.
I just started this practice with my best friend @RuimuKiou. I had to whip the black cat a few times to get him to do it, but we progress together. Sometimes I have to remind him that to learn, you have to do things he doesn't like.
I feel like I've done things well; I've already done things like this when I was studying with my art teacher at 16, but I need to relearn and improve now.
