On one level making her actually that size kind of takes away from the process I want to show in a more detailed telling of her story later, on the other hand - funny.

If you want to tell the story, you can always say that it was all just a dream and then focus on the real growth later :) In case you decided to go for the first option, I would recommend to add "Besides, I am not that big...yet"
