December is a Month and Anti-Announcements
Added 2020-12-02 16:07:53 +0000 UTCOk so normal stuff out of the way. Hi! This month is back to focusing on boobs and comics, I got through November Burnout with some D&D assets and working on sketch and lineart for this month's illustrations - but I feel nice and refreshed and ready to boobwall again. Just in time for festivities.
I did neglect to make a December icon though. Yet.
Last month's poll winner was "Barria showcases a feast for Kat along her cleavage, stuffing out the room. More Kat teasing, cause its fun. :3". And there are a bunch I might add to the personal list.
OK actual announcements time.
So earlier this year I talked about how Patreon has been trying to sink $1 tiers for a while now. I mentioned the idea of switching to a $2 base tier in 2021: I AM NOT DOING THAT. Look, 2020 was kind of a trial for everyone and I am not going to cap it off by raising prices for next year. We will see how things go in 2021 but frankly I like the tip jar being just that: if someone wants to throw me a buck to go through and download everything tagged with "art dump" I am all for that. Please and thank you for the support; it's not hard to steal content if you are determined, and just feeling like throwing me a dollar for the convenience and to help me pay some expenses is really appreciated. Yeah, I probably need to raise prices - but this isn't the time and I can always pick up some commissions this year to help out.
I may start asking for specific themes for polls. Part of this is so holiday themed illustrations are ready for that holiday and also so we stop having Barria and Kat take the win so much. Basically I might ask for things like specific upcoming holidays, OCs that are not mine, and so on. The requests will probably be very loose and I want to, as always, encourage people to submit their own characters.
If I start opening up Commissions I will open them to patrons first. This is kind of both a reward and because I can be confident that people who have been part of patreon are more likely to be reliable clients. The openings will be offered and will always be done after my work for the month is completed. I'll post more information after I prepare; and I also have a bit of a wait list to address first on that note. The commissions themselves will not be new tiers on Patreon or be done through Patreon's payment system: it's just that I will be opening them to patrons.
Ok, thanks for reading. Stay warm or cool depending on your hemisphere, and stay safe.
Cheers.

2020-12-02 20:12:21 +0000 UTCyeah Im going to figure something out on that front that doesn't bog me down again with a overstuffed list of things to finish.

2020-12-02 18:36:35 +0000 UTCMan I know 2020 was tough, but I would be incredibly surprised and disappointed if people who could afford $1 a month could not subsequently afford $2 a month.. don't sell yourself short ;w;. Also is there possibly going to be a 'not-Barria' poll?, whilst I adore her, she wins often, and she's going a comic running too, folks should vote to let others shine :B

2020-12-02 18:32:28 +0000 UTCOh no, I am COMPLETELY in agreement with you. Considering support from patrons is such a big deal for me, the fact that it feels like Patreon is trying to sabotage that support for a few bucks is immensely upsetting.

2020-12-02 16:44:47 +0000 UTCCool. Sorry for the rant, I just really needed to unload about how terrible Patreon are for *literally just stealing my pledge money* through their fake exchange rates. -_-

2020-12-02 16:42:35 +0000 UTCI'll fix the post on that: I was not planning on the commissions themselves being done through patreon, just opening the commission slots to patreons. And yeah, I don't like Patreon's new system which is why I don't want to change prices or introduce new tiers.

2020-12-02 16:29:39 +0000 UTC"stop having Barria and Kat take the win so much" BOOOO! Downvote! Bad idea! "The openings will be made in tiers" My current Patreon payment is made in dollars, with 20% VAT added because of my country of residence. If I switch tiers, I'll be paying through Patreon's new currency exchange, which I believe is currently a rip-off of more than 10% of the exchange rate. I'll also have to pay VAT on the commission. And, when I go back to a non-commissioning tier, I won't be able to go back to my $10-for-$10 pledge, I'll be on the currency exchange and will be paying £10-for-$10, and then I'll have to pay VAT on top of that as well. I cannot stress enough how much I do not want to pay for commissions through Patreon.
