He would not have been receptive to Crowley telling him his feelings sooner, especially since it seems like they were either out of contact for a while or Aziraphale has been hiding his relationship with Oscar. Maybe he’s just trying to soften the rejection, but I’m hoping Crowley calls him out on that.
