初めてホテルに行った時、彼女はそう言った。俺は面食らってしまった。何の冗談だよとその時は笑ったが、今、それが現実のものになろうとしている。

ともあれ俺たちは、今日別れることになった。別れの場所は、俺のマンション。前触れなど一切なく、唐突に俺から別れを告げた。理由と言えるほどの理由はないが、強いて言うなら、俺たちは始めから、いつか"こういうことをする"前提で付き合っているカップルだったかもしれない。

彼女は少し驚いた表情を見せたものの、すぐににっこりと笑って返答した。
