San Francisco experience coming in about a week, New Rig, Updates

Expecting San Francisco to be complete in 7/8 days. Golden Gate Bridge, China town, Seals and Trolleys await as Sarah and I explore the golden gate city. Sorry for the delay this month, it is taking a lot longer than expected to work with the new camera.

The Ursa Cine Immersive is an absolute beast though. Heavy as hell, but my goodness the amount of dynamic range is insane. And sooo many pixels at 16k :D Both eyes are also crazy sharp and uniform, I’m in love <3 Unfortunately along with the extra dynamic range comes a color grading workflow that is 5x harder than before - hence the delay.

I have been working nonstop to keep improving my speed and efficiency with the new braw codec so expect the experiences to start coming at a more normal pace in the very near future.

I will always produce a new experience every single month minimum, but I’ve been aiming for every 2.5-3 weeks in the past and I intend to get back to that speed in the very near future so I thank you tremendously for your continued patience and support. I could not keep going if it weren’t for those of you that have decided to stay month after month.

Expect Yosemite about 2.5-3 weeks after San Francisco release.

Did I say the new camera was heavy (I know I did already lol) Goodness gracious it is heavy. Not to worry though because I have never let anything stop me in my quest to produce the highest quality and most entertaining immersive experiences in the world. Not gonna let something small like “physics” get in the way either, lol.

So I went ahead and engineered a custom rolling rig to hold the camera for the walking shots. All in all it cost about $5k USD to custom build this new setup, but it will be worth it. We are talking about “dolly on rails” smoothness. It will lead to extended city walking shots longer and smoother than anything you have seen in the past. It should allow me to bring you enhanced immersion with fewer cuts. It should also allow me to actually increase my output so I can bring you experiences even faster than ever before! Really excited for the new setup.

Almost. Will start releasing parts tomorrow 9/26. It was done 5 days ago actually, but soo many hiccups with the new workflow. Renders are now taking 40 hours per 20 minutes on a rtx 5090 lol. Also had to figure out how to cobble together a bunch of fusion nodes to change it to proper equirectangular SBS for meta quest compatibility. Vision Pro is easy to output on this step since it doesn’t need remapping, meta quest and other headsets not so much.
