Pic 88: Wendy the Weightlifter

When I was making Something's In The Air originally 10 years ago, I knew the professions of the extra characters, but needed to come up with names. So I picked names that started with the first letter of their profession: Wendy the Weightlifter, Bonnie the Bartender, Stacy the Strip Club Owner, Paula the Professor, Veronica the Villain, Lydia the Lead singer, and Heidi the Hairdresser.

10 years later I am very close to finishing the update to all the pictures in the old game that will continue to exist in the new game.  In fact it is my goal for November to do just that. October I finished all the Ariane and Rachel pics, and previously I finished Stacy and Veronica.  That leaves Wendy, Bonnie and Paula.  They only have one path each, but unfortunately those paths are on the long side. Wendy took an entire week of work, even though I had already redid the Gym set the previous week..

Only about a third of the Wendy pictures take place in the Gym, the other two thirds take place at the lake, which definitely needed a lot of work to redo.  The crowd at the beach was pre-rendered people "billboards", but those billboards no longer look  very good.

Luckily I had some pre-rendered beach people that I bought for Ariane in Paradise beach scenes and could reuse. The background also looks old and dated. I used new sand and water textures to make it look better, and also added "depth of field" rendering, which simultaneously makes the beach look big and hides all the weird flaws in the background. 

But I did finish all the Wendy path pictures this week and they will be in the November beta update.

My goal is to do the Bonnie pictures over the next few days, the Paula pictures in week after that, and the "video game" images after that.  That will finish the remaking of the "old" content, and I can focus on the "new" content in December.
