Pic 32: Trying New Casual Outfits for Date Ariane

This is the beginning of working on Date Ariane Remastered. Since I will be redoing all the graphics, I may as well take the time to update Ariane's look. Here are some possible casual outfits for Ariane.
This is what Ariane wears at the very beginning. It is "casual", but it should be nice enough to make an impression. Included are detailed PNGs with both sitting and standing poses as some clothes that look good when standing, look bad when sitting.
First on the left is the current Date Ariane outfit, but rendered in Poser 12.
Second is a spaghetti strap top I have used in all my games somewhere. This is the top worn by Bonnie in Something's In The Air, where the straps had a tendency to fall off the shoulder, and occasionally flashing some boob as a result. Pants are gray jeans with a higher waist. When I first made Ariane's Date Simulator in 2004, the trend was low waist pants. The trend today is high waist. I don't have really high waist pants.
Another current trend is sexy tops as demonstrated in outfit 3. This was a trend in the early 2000s that has gone full circle to be back again. This might be a little too much skin for a first date, so I probably won't use it. Might look good with a vest or jacket, but that is next week's look. Trying out teal instead of traditional red.
Outfit 4 is the opposite direction, more modest but still sexy. Low cut tops have a tendency to loosen up at times. Pants are leather. Also trying purple as an alternate color. I'm thinking this top might work as a post swimming robe, too.
Finally outfit 5 is a compromise outfit. Top is similar to 1 but without the buttons, pants are identical to outfit 3.

I think you should give players the options of what clothes Ariane should wear each date, that would end up in great results ngl

2021-11-20 05:34:26 +0000 UTC#2 is giving me serious Eliza Dushku in Buffy the Vampire Slayer vibes. Maybe a little dated, sure. The top in #4 seems like a strange choice for a date at first, but it kind of grows on you as a bold choice, which fits Ariane's personality to a T.

2021-10-13 10:37:42 +0000 UTCSo I am starting to fall into the #4 camp myself as tops go, with the #3 pants. If you look in the sitting pictures, you can see the bottom of the pants. Pants 2 and 4 are basically "skinny jeans" which were super popular in the 2010's but are falling out of favor. Pants #3 have looser legs. I have another pair of high waist pants with even looser legs, but thighs poke through when sitting, So the pants #3 fashionable and easy to work with. What top #4 really needs is a nice necklace. Looking into that.

2021-10-13 00:06:10 +0000 UTCI'm torn between 2 and 4. 2 has that simple girl-next-door vibe, carefully threading the needle between teasing and showing too much. A little room for some "accidents" but not throwing it in your face. 4 is *classy*, yet still teasing and free. Ditto 2 for "accidents" potential on a good date. The original seems....off. Like the renderer gave it a wetlook look, or just made it plastic, that just isn't appealing to me, as much as I love the original outfit. 3 is a no-go as a date opener. I'd agree with Tao that maybe it would work as something changed into later in a good date, but definitely not the opener. 5 feels conservative, but that's down to me and my personal preferences. Color doesn't matter as much to me. That purple on 4 is rich, and I really like it. It's definitely OK to shift away from red. Nostalgia doesn't need to hold sway there, nor does it with the pants. I'd say run with 2 or 4. They both offer potential for little side snippets of teasing new content, and they both work as something eye-catching and inviting looks without screaming slutty.

2021-10-11 03:29:54 +0000 UTCI'd love to see some hair variations. On my personal version of Ariane, I used DAZ Victoria Belinda hair v4 with bright purple/ blue highlights on the longer areas. I think it would look really cute with the Purple wrap top. Wish I could show you some pics.

2021-10-09 17:21:14 +0000 UTCI am using a new hairstyle here. It is straighter and less wavy than the Hopepunk City hair, and it does make her head look thinner, even thoguh it isn't. I'm leaning towards this hair because it is easier to work with, but the HC hair, the original DA hair, and even the AiP hair are all possibilities. Maybe I should include that in a round of pictures.

2021-10-09 05:44:11 +0000 UTCI love the purple #4. . . classy and sexy! Also, it's easy to "show off" a little more (without undressing) as the mood changes. I've been following since the first version as well. No, she doesn't have to wear red, it's time for a fresh look! Maybe it's just the pose, but something looks wrong with her face and hair. She doesn't look as natural as in HopepunkCity. She looks too thin.

2021-10-09 04:21:47 +0000 UTCI love purple and to my mind, outfit 4 looks classy. Outfit 2 is a good second if you want to keep to a red top as others seem to prefer. As you say, outfit 3 is a bit too much skin for opening the door on a first date, but maybe something to change into for one of the routes where the date is going well?

2021-10-08 13:46:20 +0000 UTCAs someone who's been dating Ariane since you first released the game, I would argue that the top has to be red. Everything else just doesn't feel quite like Ariane. :-) I do like the spaghetti straps, and I think I'd combine it with the original jeans or with pants 3.

With a jacket it would be better, but still pretty suggestive. Then again, in that game, sex on the first date can happen, so maybe being suggestive is appropriate. :-) I really want to get to Hopepunk City, but I'm deep in what I'm working on and not coming up for air much. Soon though. I'm looking forward to it! --Tlaero
